some hair left on your head? + lotion in my eyes due to fewer eye lashes?

Hi everyone,

I am two weeks out of my second treatment of Taxotere and Cytoxan. I did not buzz my hair, but did cut a pixie. Then I just let the hair come of as it pleased. Most of it did come off about 2-3 weeks after my first round. But I still have some hair left, and nothing additional seems to come out now after my second round. I am blonde and the hair that is left is only the superblonde almost white hair. My normal hair is a mix of the superblonde and reddish tones, but all the reddish hair is gone. Even after round two it seems this hair is not coming off. Did anyone experience this, that not all the hair on the head fell? And that "certain kind of hair" seemed to stay?

A second question is if anyone experienced lotion seeping into your eyes due to thin eye lashes? Im not sure that is what is causing the problem, but it feels like it. I put mango butter on for face cream, and although I try to apply very little around my eyes it still seems to come into my eyes and cause a blur in my vision. Is the thin eye lashes the reason or something else?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Eva

    Hi Eva,

I have a slightly different chemo cocktail (first Adriamycin and Cytoxin, then Taxol and Herceptin) than you however most of my hair came but not all of it. I ended up very patchy and wasn't sure what was left was ever going to come out so I had a friend shave my head.

I did have to be careful when putting lotion on my face with 8 lashes on top and 3 on the bottom as I did often end up with my vision being a little blurry. I am not sure what the reason for this was, if it was lack of lashess when applying lotion or what and I was using Shea butter which is rather thick and creamy. Now that I have lashes again I don't experience it as much.

I also found mascara hard to apply with only a few lashes and got most of it on my face so ended up giving up on that.

It doesn't last that long, soon it will be over and the hair and lashes will be coming back in.

    take care
    Mariam

    Hey Eva,
I had Taxotere and Cytoxan too. I did not loose all of my hair either. At first I got it cut really really short. At the end, when I realized that it wasn't coming out anymore I did get a long buzz, hoping that it would come back even, which it didn't. My onc was quite surprised that I didn't go bald. Good luck with the rest of your treatments.

    Thanks for the replies guys,
Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it! Always nice to know that what I am experienced has been experienced by someone before me. I won't buzz the hair even if it does not all come out. This way I can wear a hat but have some hair come out of the hat, possibly fooling some people ;)
