CEA going DOWN...YAY!!!!
I have never had acid reflux but I started having this fluid come up in my throat and it burns...kinda like heartburn. Just started this morning. I have a dry barking cough but noticed flem in my thoat earlier and then a little bit ago I puked and it was yellow snotty lookin yuk! Thought I seen a tint of blood but not sure. Could my SMALL hernia above my belly button be affecting this? Always something!!!
Whatever.... I am just happy about my CEA!!!

Chemo can cause an acid reflux (I had that with Xeloda). Phlegm; well if it doesn't improve sounds like you should check with your Doc; I empathize.
love, Leslie
Awesome news ! you are near the normal levels just a couple of rounds! ...What about omeprazole ? excellent to me for the reflux!.
Cough is very normal in me the whole week after chemo with lots of mucosity yellow and dark, after one week I get perfect and then again , not red color tough ,but is so persistent that some times I think I'm going to bleed because my cough.
Hugs dear enjoy your results!0 -

Acid Reflex
Hello,
I experienced mouth sores as well as acid reflux. The onolcologist at Mayo prescribed a special mix called Miracle Mouthwash. I was to swish in the mouth, gargle for the throat and then swallow for the acid in my digestive system. Maybe you can google it or discuss getting it with your onocologist.
It is nice to know the chemo is working.

Awesome
What wonderful news. You are going in the right direction. How many treatments do you have to do this time? Glad this chemo is working for you.

I don't have a set number of treatments. I will continue my regime of CPT-11 which I get every Monday for 2 weeks in a row then off 3rd week. When CEA gets below 5 I will go for a PET/CT...if all clear...NED....then I will take a chemo break till...??????????
Hugs to you all

Yeah!
So happy your CEA has gone down- what a feeling of relief for you! (I get my CEA results tomorrow/Thursday & I'm a bit nervous about what it will be- I'll let you know).
So far as the acid reflux, definitely get something for that. You may need to be on an antacid on a regular basis now. Also, note that spicy and acidic foods drinks (i.e. coffee and soft drinks- I gave those up) really will affect this & you can help the problem by avoiding anything spicy or acidic.
Talk to the onc to see if he thinks the hernia could be contributing to this. It may, but I bet the most of it is coming from the CPT-11.
Bummer about your hair, for sure, but life goes on, as you know.
Again- so glad to hear your CEA went down!
Hugs,
