I didnt but
I didn’t have problems with water retention but...
Are you sure you are drinking enough water??
--- Ok cut and paste time again ---
While PMS is the major cause of water retention in women, water retention for both men and women can also be related to kidney problems, both serious (kidney disease) and commonplace (not drinking enough water). Heart, liver, or thyroid malfunctions can also play a role in water retention. And, of course, eating too many salty foods can turn your body into a water-storage tank.
-------
Going through this and breaking it down.
if it was "normal" PMS you probably wouldn’t be mentioning it
There could be kidney problems...
It could be as simple as not drinking enough water. (let’s hope it’s this one)
Have to look into "thyroid malfunctions"
And I am assuming that it is NOT the too many salty foods... something about being on LID...
Things you might try
Eat bananas... Bananas contain high amounts of potassium, which helps eliminate fluid retention. Not a banana fan? Gobble down a handful of raisins instead.
A natural diuretic, cabbage can be added to salads or sandwiches or enjoy a side of coleslaw for lunch.
Another natural diuretic is cranberry juice. Drink it straight from the bottle. Make sure it is no sugar added not sure about Iodine in it or not though.
Try to increase your intake of vitamins A and C, both of which help diminish the fragility of capillaries and decrease water retention.
Other things to try
Keep your feet up
Don’t cross your legs when you sit (lowers blood circulation in the legs)
Try leg lifts or other light leg workouts.
--- Ok more on the thyroid issue ---
--Hypothyroidism--
Hypothyroidism is caused by an underactive thyroid gland that produces insufficient levels of thyroid hormones. Symptoms are often varied and difficult to define, therefore a symptom such as water retention may be mistakenly attributed to another condition. Many people with an underactive thyroid gland may be unaware of the problem.
--Hyperthyroidism--
Hyperthyroidism, also known as an overactive thyroid, overproduces hormones. As the thyroid controls vital systems of the body from metabolism to body temperature, a variety of symptoms can result, including water retention.
------
Ok so either way if your thyroid hormones are too far off they could be the cause... with the LID. So are you off thyroid replacement??? If so you are defiantly hypothyroidic.
Other causes of "normal" water retention are
Hot Weather: Warmer temperatures hinder the body’s efficiency of removing fluid.
A change in hormonal levels may lead to water retention.
Seasonal Allergies: Those who are prone to seasonal allergies may experience fluid retention, especially around the eyes and face.
ok and another thing are you making sure you are getting SOME salt (non iodized) the body dose need salt and if you have just cut out ALL salt you might not be getting enough.
Ok that all I can think of I hope some of it helps.
