in Esophageal Cancer #1
It has been a while since I last posted. I did have Ivor lewis surgery on March 24, spent 28 days in hospital, had a few complications, but came out well. I came home on April 18, returned to work full time May 2nd. Got PET scan results last week and all is clear, no hot spots at this time. Started Carboplatin/Taxol yesterday will do that for 4 rounds, being taken every 21 days. (3 lymph nodes that were removed during surgery tested positive, reason for chemo treatments now)

I can not tell you enough how much I appreciate this site and all the info that is on here. I read post here everyday but don't sign in or post often. I just wanted to post how well I have recovered and give some of you out there additional hope.

Thanks everyone for posting your expereince and to those of you who ask questions that some of us fail to ask, not to mention the ones who answer the questions.

    It is great to hear that you are doing well. I assume you are doing your adjuvant chemo in Greenwood. I hope it goes by quickly and with a minimum of side effects. We are up in Michigan for the summer now but when we get back in September it would be great to get together for lunch some day. I am very happy to hear your PET came back clear.

    It is great hearing from you and knowing you are doing well. I am sorry you have to go through more chemo, but it is so important. You had a long stay in the hospital, but I am so impressed that you are back to work. Keep up the great job and stay in touch. Congratulations on the clear petscan! God is amazing!

    Thanks for the encouraging words that Jim did well with this regimine. My eating is going well, still learning what I can and can not tolerate. Sure this will take time, but happy to be eating and maintaining my weight.

    so nice to hear you are doing well---certainly isn't easy though. Thanks for letting us know & know there are many on here that don't post often but often pray for those with names & stories on this site! Keep up the good work!
