Nice to hear you got
Nice to hear you got approved.
It stinks that you go through that & teeth seem to be cosmetic in their eyes.
One day; people with oral cancer won't have to jump through hoops. Breast Cancer patients can elect to have reconstruction; yet teeth & hearing are not important.0 -
I think after you have had HNC you should go to every 3-4 monthsHondo said:Teeth cleaning
That is not a bad idea to get your teeth cleaned every three months, I believe I am going to try it and see if I can get BCBS to approve doing mine every three months.
Very good port

I go every three months. No insurance, so everything is out of pocket for me. I have spent about $4k on my mouth this year. Sucks.0 -

Skif and Hondo,
Our dental plan is with METLIFE a company sponsered plan through Dupont retirees. The plan allows paradontial cleaning if you have a paradontial history. I did not, but the argument was for keeping my teeth as long as possible. It took a lot of time of pushing the denied claim back and correspondence with the dentist to get it finally approved. It is unusual to win something like this, but we have to keep fighting for what we deserve (and pay for). Good Luck to everyone if you try to get it approved.

BCBS of LA pretty much laughed at the thought of paying for 3 month dental checkups, as far as my policy is concerned. They've paid out so much for me in the last two years, they've taken me off their Christmas card list . I don't think they like me anymore.

I don't even have a dental rider on my Blue Cross policy. They want 1,200 a year just for basic maintenance. AARP wants somewhere in the same neighborhood. Yea, I know I'm walking a tightline when it comes to if they all start falling out, but at only 150.00 max with my Dentist (one of those "deals" made long ago), I just keep paying out of my own pocket. As of now, seems to work out better.
