If he thinks he's "enlightened" now, he should come here and read all of "our articles."
He got a good scare, but he didn't get "the taste."
Thanks for the read, Phil. You think I can outwrite this guy?

Thks for the post Phil.
People mag ran an article on Dr Oz and his colonoscopy.....I really had to hunt for the exact quote, but I found it: "A few more years and it becomes this big mass that goes through the wall of the intestine and into the liver. By the time you find it, you're a goner." What kind of attitude is that for a doctor??? Pretty innacurate and insensitive.
He is not one of my favorite peeps

You could "bury" this guy...
Tell Dr. Oz he's not in Kansas anymore!
;-)
I haven't read the whole magazine (thank goodness in a way for colon cancer, I do much of my reading in the library (i.e. bathroom)) but I saw they had a piece on the "refuseniks" as the call them. That's to say those who refuse chemo. I have not yet seen or read anything about those who take the TCM or other alternatives. It is of course, skewed to some extent but overall many of us are here who if we had been diagnosed 15 years ago might not be here. Who knows???

CC on Oz
There is also a thread of discussion about this at the Colon Club:

I prolly won't read it....sometimes the celebrity slant on things just gets me down
I remember seeing a piece on CBC tely about a famous doctor in Toronto who developed breast cancer.....she had the best docs the best oncs the best everything including makeup artists on the day of the interview. she then proceeded to tell us that chemo is hard and "not for wimps"
jeezzzzz.....really????? all these six years i thought I was just having a walk in the park.....NOT!!!
yup the Shadow knows for sure.....

Refuseniks
This one is actually pretty good (unlike the OZ article, which I find unnecessarily fear mongering).
Adjuvant therapy can have value, but I have always believed that it should entail a blunt conversation with the Oncologist about what that value actually is. It may not be right for everyone.
Of course, easy for me to say, as adjuvant therapy has never been a choice for me...0 -
i like mr oz better than doctor oz
a good read.
