Flex Sig Appointment

I did my prep yesterday for the flex sig this morning, but I was going all night, all this morning and even before having the scope. Saw Dr. Lee this morning for my flex sig and watching this was amazing and weird. He said that the pouch looked good. Told him that I had blood last night while going the bathroom and he still wasn't concerned, but he saw some small blood vessels which he said might have done it, but a hemorrhoid also that could have caused it. Asked if it could be higher up and causing the bleeding and he said no. Nothing. Just not concerned and everything looked great.
He talked about my oncologist visit and she stated that all was going well and all tests were satisfactory. He just wanted to comment to the nurse again how good things looked and spoke about how much I went through.
He asked about bathroom issue and told him I'm still going 15-20 times a day with most liquid. Told him that even taking a 1/4 of an immodium sends me into constipation for 3 days and then get sick to my stomach because I'm not going. He wants me to do immodium liquid and dilute it because I'm not going to be able to break down more than 1/4 pill.
He is such a wonderful doctor. When he said only a colonoscopy next year was music to my ear. Wow can't believe it. Thing is when the scope was going on, it looked like it wasn't very cleaned out and told him that I'd been going all night and then right before coming into the room, he said that's ok, they must be used to seeing poop in the colon. Heck going so much you think I'd be cleaned out

Now my next test is blood, CT scan, oncologist in October. Never too early to ask for prayers for a normal outcome:)
Thank you everyone for prayers and thoughts on this journey. Seems I'm down to one visit a year with surgeon now and two oncologist appointments a year and one scan a year.
I'm Blessed because of all of you - so thank you.
Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, and vibes, and etc.
Hugs! Kim

Yes it was a little uncomfortable and kind of "ummmm" an "awwwww" they just seem to go on and continue with the diagnosis. Never got the medicine this time so was completely awake. With a flex sig they don't give the twlight. Know what you are talking about with the vein though. Did that to me several times.

i guess this is good news
dear kim,
I just wished your doctor had more adevice than just juggling the immodium.
Ironic, guess what my surgeon also advised me ?
you guessed it, try a couple more immodiums to bind my stools together.
its a real tricky juggling act.
dam if we do and damed if we don't.
at least when i have this much pain, i am certain i am still alive.
I hope we both get to go to the loo only say less than 10 times a day.
I'd be so happy with that. Hearing about your issues kind of provided a virtual shoulder to cry on.
I don't regret getting reconnected but I am glad I did not know how painful it would be, otherwise I may have chickened out.
well only one direction now for us. I do so hope you get some relief soon.
the lack of sleep is really wearing me down, I look worse now than I did douring chemo.
I am a wreck. even a 200 meter walk is a pain.
hugs and love ,

I seemed to have better results taking immodium and questran together. I asked for Lomotil but he wanted to play with the immodium
Pete, why is it so painful? did the doctor say that was normal.
I had a friend who has Crohns, she had a stoma, not sure colostomy or ileostomy for a year and then reattached. she worked every day and never complained, then got married 2 months later. I just dont remember hearing her talk about pain0 -

It gets betterunknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator
The amount of times going does get better. I'm 1 1/2 years out and even though 15-20 times a day sounds like a lot, it has gotten much better. It was close to 40+ at first. The one bummer is missing out on family functions if it's not near a bathroom or only one bathroom. Just can't take tha chance, and sometimes my system just doesn't warn me fast enough to have to drive to a bathroom. It's the urgency with not much production. If I'm absolutely wanting to go somewhere, Ill take an immodium and then don't eat. But my system does much better without trying to force it to do something.

*Hugs* Kim. Wish things were different for you! It's hard to have quality of life when you're having trouble like this.
