Any experience large amount of blood in urine?

in Esophageal Cancer #1
Jim has been recovering slowly and today told me he had blood in his urine. It is a large amount and by the time he told me it was too late to call the doctor. He is on Coumadin and is having his levels checked tomorrow. When I saw his urine tonight it was very red and he said it wasn't anything like this morning. I will be going with him and we are going to stop in at the Cancer Center and let his oncologist know what is going on too. My thought is he might want to do other blood tests and maybe a catscan. I am trying not to panic! Has anyone else had this happen? I think we need to let his cardiologist know too.

I read the posts daily and pray for all.

    I am hoping that once Jim gets to the dr they will give you a good reason for this blood in the urine and that it will be good. You have gone thru so much and neeed not to panic. Its easy to say but hard to do.


    Please let us know what the dr says as soon as you can.
    You have both been really strong so keep it up.

    Jim's diagnosis
    Hi Friends,

    Jim had his blood checked for his coumadin levels and normal is a 2 and his was 9!!!!!!
    The doctor immediately ordered Vitamin K. He is having another test on Friday and then they will re-check his urine next week for any blood. They believe the whole situation is due to the medication. Coumadin is a great drug, however can be very dangerous. So far so good!
