Hey
I had a lump in the middle of my throat just about my collar bone that kind of felt like I swollowed a lemon. When they did my CT 2 years after it had popped up all it showed was a huge mass that was pushing up and causing the lump, my lump didnt hurt. Occasionally some things felt harder to swallow than normal. I had it for 2 years through 2 pregnancies and atleast 100 blood draws for them to finally figure out it was cancer. I wouldnt take it lightly, not to scare you but they really need to figure out why the lymph nodes are swollen like that. The Drs procrastinated with me and made it a lot harder. So if you dont feel comfortable with a diagnosis dont stop until you find one thats correct! Take Care, Goodluck and God Bless , Tracie0 -
swollen nodes
I would have a biopsy done. It's better to be safe than sorry! Do you have any other symptoms going on - ie - night sweats, itching, wieght loss, fever or chills?0 -

Sorry to hear that it took so long for them to find out what it was. I do plan on getting a biopsy right away the Dr. said i have no choice. What kind of symtoms did you have for the two years you had it and didnt know it?0 -

I had lumps in my groin, stomach and neck. No fever, pain, fatigue, night swets or loss of weight. Biopsy of the largest lump in my groin showed Follicular NHL. I now tell everyone that if they have a lump appear to get it checked out no matter what. Better to be safe than sorry. Sue...(FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -

Same here... my husband had large lumps in his groin, stomach, chest, back and neck. Pain in his back, fatigue, night sweats. Biopsy from the large lump which they removed from his neck showed Follicular NHL.
Get it checked out. Good Luck.
I had a lot of night sweats, I would wake up in the middle of the night burning up. I noticed even during the day I had more BO, which was wierd for me. I had problems gaining weight, which I've always been little but it seemed like I was eating twice as much but still losing weight. I always felt tired and winded. I used to be very active, but felt like I couldnt walk very far without wanting to sit. I noticed I had darker circles under my eyes and my lips were always bluish tinted towards the end ( the tumor got to be 19 cm and compressed my heart and lungs causing a lack of oxygen) Oh and also the itching was UNBEARABLE! I was always scratching! I couldnt swallow certain things and I noticed I had more heartburn than usual, I ended up with Hodgkins IIB Early Unfavorable Nodular Sclerosing was my diagnosis. God Bless! Try to get the biopsy done as soon as possible! My only symptoms were low back "tightness" and some pain down both of my legs. No fevers, night sweats or weight loss but yet on diagnosis I was stage IV. It took over a month for my insurance company and MRI place to get approval for the test. Pls don't wait!0 -
I hope you don't have to come back to this site, but......curryh said:The lump does not hurt at

I'm glad to hear you have a biopsy scheduled. not everyone will get night sweats, which is then classified as StageIVA. if I had these other symptoms, like night sweats, then it would have been classified as Stage IVB.
What I've learned from this CSN group, there are possibly 3 variables for NHL:
1. in-escapable stress on a daily basis (like a tough college year or job that you can't quit due to Family financial situation)
2. depression, poor attitude, negative
3. unhealthy diet
the above 3 can cause a low immune system, which contributes to NHL cancer cells to start multiplying.
Good Luck! I hope you can update us with a diagnosis of just Mono or something else that plagues college age kids!
Good Luck and let us know how it goes!
