Kindle and IBooks

This may not seem important to some, but I have found that many people going through Chemo and Doctors Appt. that don't know you can download free Kindle and I book Apps on your touch screen phone, a 3rd or 4th generation I pod touch or even an older laptop.

They also have free book downloads that may not be Stephen King or Well known writers but some are rather well written and it is better than the same magazines I read last month.

To me, this is great for the lower income that can't afford the better reader, but can "steal" the kids or grandkids old I pod's or laptops.

Just a little hint, since I never forget my phone but may forget a library book.

(You do not need an internet connection once the books are downloaded)

    Just type in Amazon
    LQ,

    Just type in Amazon Kindle App, and you can download the free app. The I Books is through the Apple Store but the App in free. (I even have them on my PC) After you have the app, just look through the Genre's or on your pc. I books has them where you can list them low price too high. Amazon has the first 10 paid books of that Genre listed first and the free books after.

    I am an avid money saver with no shame at all when it comes to saving a buck.

    I even download the free games and make sure I have my power chords to plug in.

    Nook has a free App also.

    I am a huge fan of eBooks.
    I am a huge fan of eBooks. I have a Sony touch - bought it before I started chemo - and I "borrow" eBooks on it from several libraries. You can also download library books to an iPad.

    The Nook, from Barnes and Noble, also allows you to bottow library books. I just bought my granddaughter one for her 14th birthday.

    The Kindle does not.

    If your local library does not have a good selection of eBooks, you can get a card from the Free Library of Philadelphia, even if you don't live there, for $35 a year and they have a huge selection.

    I have lots of info on this subject
    I work for my local library and I purchase all the audiobooks and ebooks that can be downloaded (checked out just like hardcover books). There are many different companies that sell readers. Kindles can not download free titles from the library. You have to purchase them from the Kindle site. Sony readers have the ability to use the free library downloads. Also, my library purchased a few different readers for patrons to check out so they could try them out to see which they like best before they purchased one. Go to your local lib and they should be able to help you get all set up. I make sure the lib has all the latest books... including Stephen King :).... all for free downloading. If you want to read from your laptop, you can do that also. Once downloaded, you don't have to be connected to the internet to read.
