Memorial weekend
No plans. Just catching up on thinga around the house. Leaving on June 2nd for Iowa, My mother will be 86 on June 7th. She still lives in her own home and drives. She has not seen me since I have been diagnosed in March with BC. I talk to her every day but I think she needs to see I am doing OK. Have a good time at the lake, take it easy0 -

But... we always celebrate my fathers birthday on Sunday afternoon. The family gets together BBQ's and swims but this year it looks like it won't be warm enough to swim. My father turned 85 yesterday and we always love to get together to do whatever - just as long as the whole family is together.
Everyone have a great and safe Holiday.
Love to you all

Not sure
We had been/are planning on going to Deadwood for Prime Rib and the 'One Armed Bandits' (slots) but not sure now. We'll be under flood watch by then (forgot rather it's late tonight or early tomorrow morning that it's 'official' for us) so seems like it makes sense to stay home 'just in case'. We can go up there any time ( little over an hour away) so not a biggy if we don't. Considering that all the Resevoirs are now over full (one by 3 foot and gaining 2" a day - not sure about the others exact levels but all are over full) makes sense to me to stay close to home - there's a creek about 1/4 mile from the house that's running high now and has flooded in the past getting to within about 50 ft. of the front steps.

Going to cemeteries tomorrow afternoon so flowers will be on the graves before the parade. Cook out tomorrow evening.Parade Monday morning. Visit my aunt in the nursing home Monday afternoon then home and kick back.
Husband was on vacation this week or I would be doing the cemeteries with my bc friend. We always visit where our family and friends are buried. She would say to me."I made it another year".I asked what do you mean??? She said I made it another year.I am a survivor.I asked her if that was the way she felt. She said "Yes".SO it will be my feelings now too.
She and I have been friends for 55 years.Since we were 9 and only had a couple arguments. Now we are both survivors. Her for 16 years and me 2 years.

My DH is a civil war reenactor. Each Mem. Day they his group does a ceremony at the cemetery which names all the local veterans. Then we have a lunch picnic.
After that celebration I will need to get out in my garden and out out the garden at the family farm as it has been way too wet to plant. I decided if I was no longer working two jobs to make ends meet that I could reinstitute gardening as a hobby to cut the grocery budget. That way I also know how my food was grown (no chemicals).0 -
Preparing for surgery
Cleaning house throughout; reading everyone's posts about putting heavy items within reach; getting nervous about surgery on Tuesday. It's just a lumpectomy, but it's the first surgery I have ever had!
So glad you are going camping, Denise. Have a smore's for me!
