panic attacks
I can only tell you that you and I share the same feelings. I had a partial nephrectomy on my left kidney with an open surgery on March 29th 2011. Just about a week before you. I still also get fatigued easily and find my ab as tight as a banjo string and it bends me over in pain. While all this is going on, I remind myself that God set the stage and guided the right people to catch my cancer early for there must be more that he needs me to do on this earth. I will actually be going back to work tomorrow and also feel concern that I might not be ready. I am a computer service tech and travel to various business customers.
I have been up most nights the past few in worry of how I can get back to work. Well, I guess we must lift ourselves up and dust ourselves off. I wish I could give you better advise - I will let you know more after my first day back to work tomorrow.0 -

I hope that your day goes well! I have decided to go back teaching for half days one week from today in order to wrap things up and see the kids in my classes. Makes me feel better to know that someone else is experiencing the same things that I am. Praying for you today!0 -

Thank you - I had a great day. Nice to get back out and see the people that I use to deal with everyday. Your decision to work just half days is a wise choice. I worked just a half day today, when I got home I layed down to relax my abnominal muscles. After an hour rest I felt good again. The hardest thing I have found from this ordeal is knowing my limitations and not beating myself up because I just can not do things as I use to - I know I will in time but I find myself being very impatient. We need to learn to listen to our body. When it says I'm tired - we need to listen and rest.
You have made a good decision on returning to work. The kids in your classes will renew your spirit - you will see!
I pray that you too will have greater comfort and wellbeing.
Sincerely,
Charlie0 -

Yes...know your limitations and listen to your body.
My wife had her surgery on the 8th and a few weeks later decided to go for a 4 mile walk. What was that for. She had a tremendous amount of pain and was crying hysterically. Sometimes I think she is in denial about the whole situation or just doesn't listen to her body. My wife was able to get 12 weeks off because we had a baby the week before her radical nephroctamy (sorry if I spelled it wrong). I'm at the point when I have to tell her what not to do.
I told her its not a sprint, but a marathon. Slow and steady as long as we make it to the end. My wife had her surgery on April 8th and is recovering slowly. She does get pains on her side when she over exerts her self, but she tends to try to do too much. I wish you guys a speedy recovery along with my wife. Remember to take it easy and rest whenever possible. I wish you the best.0
