I had 2 neck dissections with lyphnodes removed on one side, and 95% of my tongue removed and replaced with my thigh. Along with chemo and radiation. Now i have a knot on my tongue that i can not explain. I went to my oncologist and he was in surgery and i saw someone else and he called my doctor in the operating room and he told the doctor to send him a pic on his phone. He then told the other doctor to biopsy it. Well the other doctor biopsyed the wrong part. I went to the doctor Friday and he biopsed the right part. I told him about my ear hurting and he looked at it and did not see anything wrong. Now my ear and jaw hurts so bad its the worst that i felt yet. I have an appointment Thursday for my results. I had a bunch of pain patches left over so i started taking them till Thursday. Is that a bad idea? David

Hi DavidDav1965 said:Pain patch
I am only using 1 50 mg patch and take oxycodone once in a while. Maybe 2 pills a day and on really bad days maybe 4 pills.
I too was on the oxycodone for quite sometime, as you said sometimes the pain is so bad you have to do something. I am no doctor but it sounds to me that you are OK just follow the directions the doctor gave you and you should be OK. If you are not sure how much to take give your doctor a call don't be afraid to ask him that is what you paid him for.
All the best

I go to the doctor Thursday. I will make it untill then. Just a bad 3 days. Alot of pain and not much sleep.
David
Just to let you know the pain sometimes does get better and goes away. I went from the oxycodone to Tamadol and Tylenol depending on how bad I hurt. Most of my pain is in the left side of my head and face where most of the radiation was. And yes the Jaw problems I know very well as I have nerve damage there. It may take quite a few months but hang in there my friend; time is a great healer of all things.
Hope all goes well tomorrow with your doctor visit
Take care
