I just read Joyce's post about meeting Sue in upstate NY. I was wondering if anyone else lives near Utica/Rome/Syracuse. I will be there from June 14-28. Sure would be great to have a get-together.

    sure wished I lived closer. I'm in the southeast section of CT and it's quite a drive to Utica, NY. Enjoy your visit with Sue. I'm meeting Sue when we do the Hershey spa weekend in October.

    Renee and Sue, why don't you determine a day that will be good for both of you and post it? I'm pretty flexible...I'm good with coming to Utica, so if you want to mention Utica in the post, that might encourage people to respond. How's that for passing the buck? :).

    If we want to do casual, there is a Panera's on Commercial Drive where you can sit and talk for hours, and no one cares.

    This sounds like a great plan, Joyce and Sue
    Since I'll be in Utica from 6/14-6/28, both Saturdays of 6/18 and 6/25 are free for me. We could do lunch, dinner-whatever. I know the Panera's you're talking about and I do know several other places in the area. Let's see if anyone else can join us.

    I go up to the Watertown area quite a bit, but since I'm going for Memorial Day Weekend, I don't think I'll be there in June. Have fun ladies and maybe I'll catch you next time.

    Yeah--sounds great
    Okay, girls--how does Saturday, June 18th sound for everyone? If you will all p.m. me with your contact info (cell phone #s) I can call you all when I get to NY and we can settle on a time and place.

    The 18th is good for me.
    The 18th is good for me. I'd prefer lunch, rather than dinner, and I'd like a place where we aren't rushed but can spend as much time as we want. I'll pm you my info, Renee. Looking forward to seeing whomever can make it!

    What airports are around there? I have some frequent flyer miles (from my credit card and not frequently flying LOL). Just thought I would check that out.

    Hi Jean!
    The closest airport to Utica is Syracuse (about an hour away). Albany airport is close too (about 1 1/2 hours away). In fact, on my way to Utica on 6/14, I connect through Baltimore! However, I'm only there 45 minutes.

    If you find that you could come up, I would be happy to pick you up at the airport--I'll have a rental car. That would be so, so much fun. Let me know.

    Renee, thanks for the offer to pick me up though. I just got an invitation to a graduation party that was supposed to be a different day. Plus, I checked my frequent flyer miles and they have increased the miles on short flights. I think I'll save them for now. Maybe next time I'll drive up. Hope you all enjoy!

    I'm so looking forward to your visit, is it still on track? Do we have a set plan for meeting or? And are we expecting others?

    It makes me smile just to think about it! It is such a joy to meet our newly found friends - I can see there are several plans in the works for other locales.
