Hello Everyone
This is my first time on this site. My co-worker recommended. me here. Well here goes...I had tumor in my nasal cavity a while back. I did radiation and surgery to remove. Then have had 2 biopsies, negative. Well the doctors think the MONSTER is back in my eye now along the muscle according to ct mri. biopsy was in february and was negative. Then the pET showed light there last week so I had another biopsy on Thursday. My doctor said based on the appearance of the growth-hard and necrotic tissue- and the fact that it has grown, it is definitely cancer and I have to have my eye removed. The results aren't even back yet.The first biopsy showed I had lots of inflammation.
I've got 3 questions for y'all
1. Can the surgeon tell by looking ..do cancerous tumors look a certain way? He said it was hard and necrotic and had gotten bigger.
2. can't inflammed tissue grow bigger over time?
3. has anyone on here had eye removal, and if so how have you done.
This is serious stuff. I am a christian so I'm trying not to worry. I have a daughter graduating from high school in 2 weeks. I hate having this on me
I look forward to hearing replies and i look forward to my new 2nd home here with y'all.
God Bless

I did not have the same location
Kim50,
My cancer was in the Base of my tongue and had part of my tongue removed. I didn't have it in the area of the eye.
I would suggest that you get another opinion. I don't know how hard or easy that will be for you, but I am sure that many that read your post will suggest the same thing. Each Doctor has their own way of treating certain cancers. I would check out all options before making a decision.

Hi Kim
I am NPC my tumor was in the nasal passageway by the Eustachian tube and it came back three times. I know how hard this is for you to be going through right now but hang in there and keep positive. I have a friend who uses to work for us as a Captain on one of our Ships who had the same type of cancer. But the doctors in Mexico were able to remove his eye then remove the cancer and rebuild the eye socket and put the eye back in place. If you look at him today you would not know he ever had cancer, I seen him about a year ago and he is still doing well after 6 years.
There is hope so don’t give up, explore every option you have and every possibility, don’t go only by one doctors opinion get two or three. Look at the major cancer treatment centers not local cancer centre who don’t deal much with your type of cancer.
Above all make it a matter of prayer and get as many people and churches praying for you, there is power in prayer, I have you on my list.
Welcome to our family here on CSN

Most definitely get a second opinion...
Y'all have given me some great advice. i think I will try to obtain a 2nd , which has been my husband's thought as well. Hondo, that is very interesting about this doctor in Mexico. I wonder if there is a u.s. doctor able to do this. I'll research it, but if you can find out more info. please let me know.
Thank y'all for the prayers.
Hopefully i'll get a picture on here soon so yall aren't talking to a blank box (just a little humor during these difficult days).
keep the input coming!
