Just not feelin it today
My fiancee has been so great I told him last night that he is doing a great job of being there for me. He owns a business and works long hours but he is constantly helping me and wanting to be with me as much as he can. He even helps change my ostomy and doesn't act grossed out. He says he likes being able to help me. It's really nice.
I think what it is is that I never have relied on people before so much and for the first time I have too, especially mentally. I guess I will suck it up and get my self out of this funk mood. Thanks to whom ever has listened.

dear Beans
everyone has one of those days so don't be too hard on yourself. It will pass. Go outside and sit in the sun and imagine when you are ned and what you will be doinf then..making wedding plans..honeymoon..shopping,and having fun. Sounds a bit corney but when I felt this way I had to put myself in a better place.....val0 -
Feeling Down
I felt pretty sick while undergoing chemo, and just sort of drew inside myself and concentrated on being well. After chemo, I felt pretty optomistic most of the time, but had times, a day or two long, that I felt like I was in the depths of depression. It was pretty amazing how suddenly it came on, and how suddenly it would disappear. A pshychologist told me that it was a sign of fluctuating hormones. Once I learned that, I could focus on the fact that sooner or later the mood would disappear when I was feeling down.0 -
Thanks
Thanks ladies for replying. I think it must be my hormones.I am getting hot flashes like nobody's business. I had a full hysterectomy and the Dr said I can't even go on hormone replacement because my tumor feeds off it. It is true that it comes and goes fast and then reappears suddenly0 -

I started to go through the menopause 6 years ago and had hot flushes. I went on HRT. When I was diagnosed 18 months ago I was taken off it because, as you said, our cancer feeds off it. So here I am, back experiencing the hot flushes again. It is horrible as they all just seem to start and finish above the neck and more importantly underneath my wig. When I am at home I just take it off but if I am at work or out in the pub I have to descretely lift up my wig and mop my scalp underneath.
They are strange as I describe them as "cold sweats" as my skin feels clammy. I think it must be the chemo that is causing these hot flashes.
Hope they are not too uncomfortable for you. Tina xx0 -

Ahhh hot flashes. What I started to do was to carry a washcloth with ice cubes in a zip lock baggie around with me. One time in OutBack I did get a large table looking at me like I needed to be carted away. I sounded like Meg Ryan in the restaurant:) It feels so refreshing. I have never really been one to care what others think - but being on this ride for almost 9 years I REALLY don't care.
Please don't beat yourself up over having bad days. I use to warn my husband - "crabby mood" enter at your own risk! You are so young. I can imagine your emotions and hormones are all over the place.
Hang in there!0 -
So Normal
There is not one of us that has not had 'down days' we would not be normal if we did not have them. It will pass but I think it is important to acknowledge that we are sad about our fate and the changes we have faced. You sound like you have a healthy atttude so I'm sure you will bounce back and enjoy your life . Your fiancee sounds like a keeper, does he have any older brothers ?

I had very bad night sweats during and after chemo. Even though my tumor did not test positive for hormone stimulation, my naturopath would not allow me to go on hormone replacement. I am working, however, with an accupuncturist who treats me every other week and who has recommended some chinese herbs. No night sweats now, and very few hot flashes.0
