Joint and Bone Pain?

Just give the doc a call
I would give the doc a call. I think they ususally offer something. They suggested Advil to me for the anti-inflammatory effects. I usually take Ultram (non-narcotic but just for pain) if I am too uncomfortable. Hugs to you both. Hang in there.0 -
Normal
My mother had same experience and she was told that it would go away and it did, but she could take extra strength tylenol for it...NOT ibuprofen because ibuprofen cuts down on platelets...so we purchased a huge bottle for her and she took it as needed....hope this is helpful..0 -
yup... I described it as
yup... I described it as someone grabbing hold of each end of my long bones and twisting. It wasn't pleasant but lasted only about 2 days at the most. For me it also diminished with each chemo. I used advil, didn't need anything stronger but some folks have it real bad.0 -

Bone and joint pai is very commen while on carbo/taxol.. I had my md give me something stronger especiaaly a night when pain was more pronounced and I couldn't sleep. I also took magnesiem for bone health and it helped a little. Other boards women swear by Claratin, but I never tried it. Hope your mom is feeling much better today...val0 -

She promises she will call in the morning for something for pain. She can barely get up the stairs.0 -

I know she is not like in danger or snything but she went from feeling so relaxed after chemo and she can barely walk. Advil doesn't help. She says Tylenol worked better. She definitely will need something for next time if the same thing happens in three weeks when she gets her next chemo. Thank you so much val!0 -

No she is not in danger but she is sufferng needlessly. I had the same pain but I was already on hydrocordone for arthritis and back problems so it helped with the chemo pain. People will tell you that pain pills can cause constipation but that can be dealt with by taking mirilax. Not moving also causes constipation and trust me if your Mom is in pain she will not be able to be as active as she would lke to be. Whatever the dr. gives her make sure you let them know if it is working there are many different medcines out there and she might have to try a couple til she finds the right one for her.
With all we are dealing with pain should not be something that goes unaddressed. Patients that have their pain controlled are found to heal better and faster. I hope your Mom feels better soon.
