Yes, Papillary Thyroid cancer can come back in the lymph nodes and other areas of the body. She should be following up with her doctor to be sure there has been no recurrence of the cancer. There should be no reason she can't get pregnant as long as she is clear of the cancer. This is a question best addressed by her doctor however. Everyone's case is different and only she and her doctor know her particular situation. I personally had recurrence of Papillary Carcinoma twice in eleven months. If she has been clear of cancer for three years or more you will want to discuss pregnancy with her doctor.

You are welcome. Yes, yearly checks are needed. She will also need labs done about every three to six months to check her TSH, Thyroglobulin and Anti-Thyroglobulin levels. Be sure to check with her Endocrinologist to be sure that pregnancy is a good idea. If the Endocrinologist say's that it's okay to conceive, make an appointment with an Obstetrician/Gynecologist for a "Well Woman Exam" (Pap Smear and Breast Exam) before trying to conceive and let him/her know of her condition.
Good Luck and Blessings,
