For all of my fishing buddies....

There is fishing after Chemo and Radiation....

This is my friends Blog on recent fishing trips. Some with me, some with others.... The cover is Josh, my buddy holding a double fisted pair of grouper. Our first double hook-up a few eeks ago.

Fresh From the Salt

If you scan through the older articles there's a few from last year...Flounder and Pompano.

The grouper below is one I caught under the Skyway Bridge a few week-ends ago. The bridge is one of our favorite grouper spots.

Tampa Bay Grouper

Tampa Flounder - Gandy

Pompano - Gandy Style

Upper Tampa Bay Redfish

Best,
John

Yup, one of my favorite bridges to fish....

I grew up in Mount Vernon and actually worked in Delaware at General Casting Plant a few months before going into the USMC. Of course that was a few years before you (1973) to be more precise.

I've been through your town many, many times going to Columbus.

Mount Vernon is my hometown for sure, I was born in Mansfield and have several relatives between the two cities.

    Best,
    John

    Hi Jason
That is because John is the King of fishing; I am planning on moving to Tampa next door to him soon as I am jealous seeing all the pictures of those beautiful fish.

There is nothing I love more than a good fired Fish to eat.

All the best to you both

Can someone please send me some fish so I can try to eat them. Haven't tried that yet but sounds really yummy!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point, if it's not living and breathing and smells decent, I'm gonna try to eat it!

    Hugs

    Small world we live in...
thats for sure. i am an IT Specialist for the Ohio air National Guard in mansfield at the 179th Airlift Wing. Have 16 years in now and I don't know of anything else I would rather be doing. My military adventures have taken me all over Florid, from Hurlburt Field, to Egland AFB, to Tyndall, to Homestead. I did my best fishing off the coast in the Panhandle by Hurlburt Field. i caught 4 trigger fish, 7 red snappers, 4 King Makerel, and a 48pound yellow fin tuna. Everyone wanted a little of that on. It was a blast and those small little yellow fish that you have pictured are some great eats as well. My brother-in-law lives in Clearwater, basically right across the bay from the airport. Went down with my wife a few years ago, and had some good fishing on the bay as well. Anyway, good luck on you future endeavors and good fishin!
