Normal varies from person to person
Five months out things are still a little sore. If you feel that things are not as good as they should be check with your doctor.

    Best wishes'

I was very tired and very
I was very tired and very sore after 5 weeks and had a hard time eating much of anything. If she is ill you might contact the doctor but it is a very painful surgery and recovery takes longer than other surgeries I have had, personally. At six weeks I felt I would never be ready to go back to work anytime soon, by seven weeks I felt up to going back to work full time, though it left me drained. Like icemantoo said, it varies for everyone. I am 7 months post op and still have some fatigue and still have pain.

    My mistake
    I meant 5 weeks not 5 months.

    I agree
I was still barely hobbling along and still on pain meds at 5 weeks after major abdominal surgery. Keep an eye on her temperature. When is your next follow-up visit? usually it is at 6 weeks.

I am 5 months post op and
I am 5 months post op and still feeling the burn.. it took me over 3 months to really get my appetite back. I lost 27 pounds in the first 2 months and started gaining back slowly during the 3rd month. I bought chocolate hemp powder to make ice cream shakes, my hubby made me one every night and it helps give you a little extra calories and a great boost of nutrition. Also carnation instant breakfast, vitamin water, oatmeal , pretty much anything she can choke down at 3 am or whenever she feels like she can stomach a little something.. even a couple bites here and there really helps to regain strength... At the time I was really stressed out that my body wasnt getting enough food, but looking back, I think your body knows what to do and that my intestines werent ready to handle alot, so my appetite wasnt there for that reason.
