Unsolicited Personal Email

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
I received a suspicious email to my personal email account at 4:00AM last night.

It references CSN.CANCER.ORG as finding and reading my profile. Wanting to get to know me, send a photo, etc....

Has anyone else received any emails like this. I know that I've posted my email on here a few times in conversations...

Anyways, just wondering if others are getting any kind of spam/scam emails that reference this site as the source of information?

    No, I haven't received anything referring to CSN but I have never posted my personal e-mail account and now I'm glad I didn't. I get enough junk mail now.

    I have not received any emails either but I have also not posted my email address on here. I rarely, if ever, post my email address because then I get inundated by every spam, ad, nutcase there is out there and rarely get legitimate emails from the website I am on.

    I'm not so concerned about the email account...it's one that I use for forums and such, so I don't really care as for the junk mail aspect.

    I just hate to feel like it could possibly be legit. But it just doesn't seem like the way that I'd go about contacting someone first from a forum. I would at least establish contact on the forum first.

    Anyways, it's not a big, and I don't plan on responding. I mainly wanted to see if anyone else has been sent emails also.

    I know there are a few that have sent me emails, and it was OK. I know you, we have chatted on here and I knew without question whom was sending them to me.

    Weird, that they pulled my email addy from here though...

    I Googled the name on the email and there's about 2 - 3 pages of the same exact email that I got.

    There are always scamers and spammers hanging around here, sending stuff, trolling around, and posting cr@p. I see a lot of spamming on here when I'm on very late at night. I am always flagging stuff.

    I have not received any, but I am receive a lot of those spam type claims where I could share in large sums of money. Thanks Skiffin. I did not think to google the sender. Probably cannot do anything, but it may be interesting.

    Yes, usually if it's scam or fraud, there has been plenty of others out there that have gotten the same email and posted about it....

    TY Roz....it was just some scam...I didn't respond, just wanted to give others a heads-up.

    Actually when going to the discussion forums last night on here I noticed something I haven't before.

    About half way down the list of forum categories there's a disclaimer that shows up about personal infomation can be found from non-csn members doing internet searches.
