A little better
Aley and her friends came & picked up the dogs to take them to the dog park to wear them out for me **Thank you girls!** It's so nice that people will come get them and take them out for me.
I've had a horrible cough that I think I got from my father-in-law when he took me to chemo last week. I finally broke down earlier and took some codeine with cough syrup I LOVE Tussionex haha. I may actually take some more soon as it sure did help. I've been watching for fever and coughing up stuff that doesn't look good. I will admit I'm not sure why he didn't tell me he had the cough. I could have found another way to treatment, or at least worn a mask. Oh well can't do anything about it.
My hubby called and is going to be on his way home tonight. The job they thought they were ready for won't be ready for two weeks. So they'll be coming home 6 hour drive for nothing.
Well I think I am going to get what I can done before the little brat gets back. Thanks everyone for putting up with my crappy attitude for this last week. Hopefully every day will get better.
Take care,
Beth

A Cold,Oh,NO
Beth,
I caught a cold or something when I went to Md. Last month. It lasted for 1 month. No stuff(at least I cleaned it up,thats not my choice of words) it lasted 28 days and could not shake it. It started in my head and worked its way to my chest. It lingered so long I was getting weak. It finally went away. It was the worst cold I ever had in my life. I was in the middle of Rituxan maintenance. Glad you are feeling better though. John(FNHL-1-4A-5/10)0 -
You sound better...
Hi Beth,
You do sound better. Funny how we can read between the lines when our buddies post and can tell when their spirits are wavering, or when they are doing better. Sure hope your cough doesn't turn ugly...thats the last thing you need to have happen! Don't worry about the dishes or doggie toys..maybe you can ask Aley and her friends to do a quick "pick up" for you? I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you out. Everyday "IS" going to get better...keep the faith..Love..Sue (FNHL-2-3a-6/10)0 -

Yeah, you can definitely see the difference in our writing can't you. I am taking the cough syrup and the nurse said over the counter stuff is good but just watch it. I don't know what this will do to the plan for transplant. Maybe they'll just do the collection and wait to do the chemo?
I was able to get the dishes done, there were not too many, and I even vacuumed the living room (trust me it's tiny). Swept the floor and the front porch even. It was nice to be able to DO something, even something small. I have literally done NOTHING for 5 days. I was getting ready to go stir crazy. And things go so much smoother without the brat in the house LOL.
My older sweetest dog Gidget refused to listen to any of them at the park LOL. They literally had to go chase her down to get her to leave and she never does that. She kept running back to the gate (I think she was looking for me) poor baby.
We'll see how long I make it at work tomorrow. I won't bet on all day, but I'll try.
Take care,

It's just the cough. No congestion/head issue at all. No sore throat. Taking lots of vitamins and orange juice.
Keeping the faith it's going to miraculously just disappear because my guardian angel is taking care of me.
Thank god you're feeling better. When you want to use a bad word try ****** we'll fill in the blanks. You don't have to use the same number of stars and letters, that would drive us all nuts trying to figure it out LOL.

Beth,
Believe me if I used the words I really wanted to use my post would look like morse code. This crap ticks me off so bad sometimes having to see all the s*** people have to go thru.It does not matter what we do. We all have these after effects from the chemo, maintenance and follow ups. I guess it is better than the alternative. I just pray they come up with something soon so people don't have to keep going thru these treatments day after day. Just think of all the ones that have not started as of yet and all they will have to go thru. I know they have made great strides, but damn I think it is time they brought out the cure. We all get so tired of dragging our butts everyday. We never get any real rest anymore. Lets face it we are experimental rats and the drug manufacturers just get richer by the day.I was going over my bills from my chemo recently and it added up to more than I made in a lifetime of working.Multiply that by the millions getting the treatments. They could pay off the national debt, almost. Whew!!! Now I feel better .John(FNHL-1-4A-5/10)0 -

Beth,
I forgot to add in the Neulasta shots at $16,000 a shot (6 of those for me). The follow ups,the Drs. visits, the x-rays,the pet scans, pet scan readings, the blood work,etc.etc. I even got bills that I have no idea what they are. Now I am done. John0 -

Whew, I am still shocked at the dollar amount. Hopefully your insurance is
paying for this.
Just to let you know, I have been reading all the posts from you and Fran.
For the two of you, I hope the up and coming Pet Scans come out Negative, or
at least with shrinkage of any tumors.

Maggie,
Yea,I almost filled my drawers when I got the bills. I even called to double check those rediculous cost. Yes,I have insurance and everything has been covered. Even if I didn't have insurance I am sure the hospital and drug cartel would say,"Hell,he's a good ole boy and we'll just let him have it all free",LOL. What do you think about that? It's so nice to live in Never,Never Land ain't it? Please come and visit me sometime HAHAHA.
As far as the PET scan I had mine last month and it came back negative. Its Fran that I am worried about. Prayers for her. John(FNHL-1-4A-5/10)
PS. Some places are charging $18,000 a Neulasta shot.0 -

Oh John,
I love reading your emails. Such a comedian, I love it. I agree good ole boy,
let's include a free dinner with the Neulasta shots.
All kidding aside. I am so happy your last Pet Scan showed remission. YEAAAAAA.
Happy, happy, am I.
I always think of Fran, and hope she is doing well. I worry about Fran too. She is
way past due for some good news.

Hi
I am glad you are feeling better. It's amazing that some people don't get it. If you are sick STAY AWAY!!. Glad your hubby is home. Take care. Let everyone wait on you. It's mother's day!!!!
He really did think he was about over it. I guess you just don't think what is just a lingering cough when you feel fine could affect someone so quick.
I know he was thinking he was doing us a favor because I needed the ride
But yeah, Just speak up about it.
