You just took a big step on the path! That first chemo is hard, glad to hear you're tolerating it so far.

with Neulasta shot to follow as well. Here was my experience--first four treatments--a little diarrhea/a little constipation for the first couple of days, no nausea--just queasiness, some aches and pains 1-2 days after Neulasta. All in all--felt pretty darn good. Tried to walk every day--even hiked after treatment #3 in Sedona, AZ.
Fifth and sixth treatments were a little rougher--NOT HORRIBLE--doable. Still no nausea, just queasiness and aversion to a lot of food tastes. Aches and pains from Neulasta were a little worst after treatment #5.
Same deal with number 6, however, my onc. decided to forgo the Neulasta since I had done so well. Not a good idea. I developed a neutropenic fever (almost non-existent white count with fever) and had to be hospitalized for 5 days on heavy-duty IV antibiotics. Once again--a little rough--NOT HORRIBLE.
Even though I didn't like the aches/pains after the Neulasta--I really wish we had gone ahead and done the last one. Obviously, my body needed it.
Just remember--everyone is different. You're going to do great. Attitude is everything--be positive and strong--you can do this.

I'm like Renee, I had 6 rounds of TAC with the Neulasta shot. I didn't have much trouble with it. Congratulations on the getting the first round done. I will pray that you continue to have an easy time with your treatments.
Hugs and God Bless,

on your way..........
congrats on starting your TAC treatments! Hope you have no bad side effects and you will be through the tunnel before you know it. I had 8 TAC's....and even at the end when it was difficult for me.........I knew all the gals would be there in the light waiting to greet me...as we will be for you! Be good to yourself, hydrate, and keep us posted on your progress. Hugs to you...........0 -

Woohoo... you took a very big first step. I think the first treatment is always the scariest. Just the uncertainty of what the triage nurses will do to you, and how your body will react caused fear in us all. Comforting words aren't enough until you've gotten that first step behind you. You my dear are well on your way and I too pray that the remainder of your treatments go as well as your first one. Congrats you are on your way to being cancer free..

Yup Marie, chemo hit me the same way. Two days after treatment I was useless had that sluggish feeling. My treatments were on Fridays and by Sunday all I could do was move from the bed, to the recliner to the couch. I did make it to work all those Monday's afterwards but it felt like my gas tank was running on sludge. Once you figure out your body schedule you can plan around your down time. You are doing good... You will be feeling better by tomorrow and each day after that better and better.
