If it's not one thing...

Been AWOL again and trying hard to catch up. I was supposed to start my new chemo (cisplatin/gemzar) last Tuesday BUT... I came down with strep throat and a horrible ear infection. I'm amazed that we all don't have more of these problems while our immune systems are taking such hits. I'm having such a hard time shaking this and I may have to miss next weeks chemo also.

Oh/crossed off a "Bucket List" item yesterday.... no I didn't skydive, but I did jump on my grandchildren's trampoline.... much to their delight and amusement.

Hugs to all my sisters.... Maria

    Feel better soon Maria.
Feel better soon Maria. Jumping on the trampoline must have been a ton of fun, did you do any flips? LOL.

I get little earaches regularly when my immunity is low.
I find I have to watch when I wear my contacts, since I was always a little prone to eye infections unless i was meticulous about cleaning and inserting them, and that is much more prevalent since I have been in treatment so endlessly for so long. I get minor eyelid infections and earaches much more so than I did before cancer.

How did your back feel after trampolening? I took my grandkids to a 'Bounce Plex' one day last winter (a giant room of connecting trampolenes with trampolene walls for LITERALLY bouncing off the walls.) I didn't do it long and didn't try anything fancy. But my back felt like I'd compressed it to hell the next day! HA! Still fun, & I had to fight the grandkids to keep the video of me akwardly attempting it off of YouTube! :D

    Glad you had some fun
Hi Maria, I am so sorry that you can't start you new chemo right away. I know how you feel. When I had the shingles, I kept worrying so much that I had to wait for a month before I could start back up again.
I also am amazed that I don't have more sickness. Two of my youngest grandchildren (8 and 5) that live with me and when they get sick I worry. But I seem to do pretty good with it and don't catch everything they get.
I loved reading where you got on the trampoline. I did that about 6 years ago with my niece. I was having a real good time until I was trying to figure out how to stop. I litterally crawled to the side to get off. I am sure that your grandchildren enjoyed you doing it with them. I can just imagine you jumping around with them....LOL

Sending hugs right back to you,
    Linda

    Hope you get better soon.
Hope you get better soon. I'm off chemo now but still waiting for some scratches and scapes and blemishes to really heal instead of looking like they stopped at the 2nd or 3rd day of healing.
Trampoline sounds delightful! Last time I did something like that was for my son's 3rd birthday when the jumping houses were all the rage. It was fun!

    FEEL BETTER, MARIA
We have a trampoline - two of our daughters put their money together about 11 years ago and bought it. They enjoyed it for years. Now our grandsons are having a great time on it too. By the way, the trampoline is very good for your health. I'll go into the benefits some other time. But, glad to hear you had fun with it.

I sure you hope you feel better soon. Strep throat is bad enough, but I've had one ear infection in my life and hope to never have another. Sending lots of hugs to you, Maria.
