THANK YOU& LOVE YOU!!
We had a great walk! 3.1 miles in just over an hour. I actually felt great. Today, im pretty sore but that was to be expected. My friends & I had the best time, walking, laughing, chatting, it was a very lively event. My best friend & I had lunch together afterward, and when I got home (after i took a super nap on the couch) my youngest daughter & I had a nice long soak in the hot tub. I love you all! Thanks for your support & encouragement. I was so touched by the sheer number of people out there doing the same thing for all of us. I wish i was a millionaire so I could fund more research, but I do my part by fundraising & doing the walks, talking to anyone who will listen about breast cancer awareness, and reaching out to newly diagnosed women & fellow survivors all over to lend a hand, if needed, to offer hope, to listen, to pray, and whatever else I can. I really feel that this is my calling. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer just 2 months after I was. WHAT are the odds of that? For those of you that don't know, I have 2 young daughters, 10 and 2 years old. They had to deal with BOTH mommy & grandma Sharon having cancer & treatment at the same time. They face a gigantic risk. More so than most. This fact alone terrifies me. I would walk around the world if it meant we would get a cure. I know alot of women are happy to put everything cancer related behind them once they finish treatment, and rightly so. I have gotten more and more involved after treatment because I want that cure. Because I want to maybe help a newly diagnosed woman feel not so scared. Because I want to share my mastectomy story with a woman facing a decision on what type of surgery to have. Because I'm still so sad at the losses of our MamaG, and Moopy, and Heidi. For my daughters, and yours. For my mom. For Joe, and MamaG's family, and Heidi's. For our neices and sisters and granddaughters and moms and friends. For you and me. xxoo

and a huge hug and thank you to you for doing it in our names. I understand your fear for your daughters--how could you not be concerned. Let's all hope and pray that a cure is found right away. I am trying to do everything I can to support the cause--everything from doing the walks to buying breast cancer stamps at the post office, to donating to the breast cancer research charities.
WE MUST FIND A CURE--NOW!

I thank you and your friends for walking for a cure! I walked several years ago after 2 of my sisters were dx with bc. Now, I'm unable to go for walks because of osteoarthritis in the knees and spine. Your message brought tears to my eyes because I'm the 5th in my family with bc. Myself and 3 sisters all had a girl and my daughter has 2 young girls as does my son. I fervently hope there is a cure before they become part of a statistic. Again, thanks so much for walking and all that you do. (Not being on the computer every day, I didn't notice if you had your pain issues resolved? How are you doing physically?)

Thank you Char for checking up on me I switched oncologists, and I'm also seeing a pain management doctor. I'm having an EMG (i think that's what it's called anyway) on my hands & feet to test for neuropathy, and for my hips & knee pain, I have been walking 20 minutes a day, and am starting physical therapy this Tuesday, i'll be going twice a week for 4-5 weeks. My new oncologist has also taken me off of the Tamoxifen -and since I've been off of it, my pain has decreased significantly. I like the fact that my new doctor is looking into the causes of my pain, and how we can fix it, not just treat it temporarily with medicine. So, I suppose, physically, I am doing a little better, but at least we're doing testing & getting some PT to try and resolve the pain issues.
