I am so sorry Marsha. I can't imagine the feeling of being more or less trapped, even if it is your home. I hope it will be ok if you miss the chemo. I don't know a lot about chemo. Is it possible to get a medical helicopter in to get you, or, have someone bring a boat?
The weather has just been horrendous this Spring. So many storms, tornadoes, flooding. My heart goes out to all of you that are going thru this.
Take care Marsha!

Is there anyway to walk out to the main road and have somebody pick you up and bring you to your appointment? Just a thought... Good luck Marsha.

Marsha, this is awful. Wish I could do something to help you out. Do you have enough supplies, food etc? Is there any way that someone can get to you?
God bless you too and I hope the water subsides very soon.
Be safe,

life does send us curve balls. The weather has been horrific and I feel so bad for those who have been ravaged by tornadoes. I hope your flooding goes down so you are able to get to infusion on Monday.

Marsha,
I missed one of my chemo infusions due to the weather in January. It was icy and I couln't get out of my driveway--literally! The doctors just re-scheduled my appointment. I had it later during that week. They didn't act like it was a problem for something like what I missed for. So sorry about the weather where you are.0 -

I missed chemo a couple of times when my blood counts were off. I felt like a kid being sent home from school. It really messes with your routine, and I hope the flood waters recede soon.
Be Well,

Have you talked to your Dr
Have you talked to your Dr about the possibility of not making it there Mon? IF he/she thinks it's imparative you're there then call the Fire Dept or Police and ask to be gotten out.
Floods scare me - I'd be trying to get out if the only routes are blocked. 3 years ago (might have been 4) we had a flash flood here from a TS that just stalled out on top of us and dumped. The Creek is about 1/4 miles from the house but when I looked out it was covering the road - no road out then. I called Son (Hubby was out of cell range) at work and told him he had to get out here to help me with loading the animals to get out. He called his Buddys with 4X4's and they called Buddys and they basically formed a convoy running down the RR Right of Way (higher land), some brought John boats and canoes. Thankfully - the water only got to my bottom step but many were not so fortunate but the young men that came definately made a big impact with helping people and getting others out that had to be gotten.
Sorry for rambling - I do that but point is IF you need to get out of home to get - talk to people - you never know where help will come from.0 -

I hope that if you still can't get out Marsha that you can contact someone to help you. Others mentioned the fire dept and police dept and that is a good place to start. Hoping you can get some help.

I'm free as a bird! Friday morning the authorities moved the barricades just enough for one lane to be driven through so I was able to go for chemo (#57). The passable portion of the road still had about 5" of water but had gone down significantly (about a foot) since I posted on Thursday. The National Guard was on hand in case the situation changed. The other direction still had about 2 feet of water covering the road. I had plenty of provisions but should have left Tuesday after work when the water was rising so quickly. I just didn't feel like packing up the cats and clothing to move out. Then it was too late.
Fortunately, the water stopped about 12' from getting into my apartment and is continuing to recede for now. Unfortunately, the next 36 hours are supposed to bring us 3-4 more inches of rain. They say it won't effect the river level but will cause more flash flooding.
My heart goes out to our neighbors down south, I just can't imagine what that would be like. My prayers are with them and I wish I could do something else to help.
Thanks a lot for checking in on me and giving me suggestions - some of which I would have tried if things had not changed. God bless. Marsha0 -

Glad you could get out Marsha and get your treatment. I feel so bad for all of this terrible weather that so many are having.
Just glad you are safe!
