Got the all clear from themamacita5 said:jejohn
Some of those techs are pretty savvy so hopefully you will get great news from the radiologist. I have had a brain MRI twice. The first time they had to haul me out for a bit when I started to panic. The second time the tech was awesome, he put a warm blanket on me and cool cloth over my face then put me in the tube....so much better. I prayed, sang songs in my head, and counted the number of weird sounds I heard. Praying you get GREAT results!
Got the all clear from the brain MRI!! Thanks for all the prayers. Hopefully I wont have to worry abt. that again for 2 months!0 -
Hi Mamacita~ Im waiting patiently to hear about your scans and haven't seen it posted anywhere. I hope it was a great call you got!!!mamacita5 said:Glenna
I had my CT this morning and suspect that it will be several days before I hear anything. This was a tough morning for me, I could not keep the tears from rolling down my cheeks as I was having my scan. Then I sat in the car and cried for a while. Just nerves I guess. I am back a work now, and things seem a little brighter when my mind is occupied by something else. Although as you can see, I had to check into the "group" for a bit.
My Mom has stage 4 ncslc with mets and she had her 1st call last week and I could only imagine what its like waiting beacause im with Mom everyday and take her for her treatments most of the time so we both were a mess last wk. (her call was from the neurosurgeon head clear, than onc called well, some good some bad. Some shrunk and some grew) New TX now taxotere every wk for 12 wks at 3 wks on 1 wk off than scans in August.
Please let me know how your doing.
Lets of prayers and good thoughts your way...sleepless in jersey0 -

Add my prayers to yours Glenna. I do hope that whatever they see in there is harmless. How long do you have to wait?? I am scheduled for my CT on Monday to see what the "subtle change" is. So we are both in the same boat it appears.
Finally got my appointments. I go for the CT scan on the 23rd but don't see my rad doctor until the 31st. Not going to let it get me down, I am spending my time telling myself that all will be well
Keeping everyone in my prayers.

My CT scan shows that I have "infiltrative markings resembling a cicatrization of markings as well as an 8mm nodular opacity". In laymen's terms this means I have some scarring but "tumor recurrence cannot be excluded". I have read that scarring from radiation treatments tends to happen at about the 6 month mark after treatment has ended. This would be just about right for me.
I had a bronchoscopy yesterday and the pulmonologist said that she did not see anything unusual but was not able to get as far in as the infiltrative markings and nodule. She did take several snips here and there and a sample of fluid for biopsy. I should hear back in about 3 days.
I know the hardest part for all of us is waiting...
Prayers and best wishes to all of us who are waiting.

You are both in my prayers. WE all know what the waiting game is like and the crazy thoughts we have. Keep strong and do your best to imagine good results. Diane0 -

Anita, it sure does seem like we spend a lot of time waiting, which, unfortunately, I am not good at
Will keep you in my prayers that the biopsy proves, without a doubt, that it's not cancer.
Stay strong and please post as soon as you get your results.

Thank you for your prayers. I've been doing good at keeping my mind busy and thinking positive and hopefully will be able to keep it this way til I get my results.
Yes, the waiting game is one game that I'm not real good at but we all have to go through it.
Stay well,
Glenna0
