aloe ?
I'm new here . I was diagnosed with DCIS about 7 weeks ago. I have already had 2 surgeries and have started my radiation treatments. I've been using that greasy lotion they tell you to but only at night since it is too yucky to actually put clothes on with. I see that many of you use the aloe. Where can I find this and is it a lotion or gel? Thanks so much.

briefly
I love aloe and use it on burns all the time, either from the plaant or a gel BUT I found I couldn't use it with rads because it burned. Go figure! RO & staff all said it would be okay but guess there was just extra sensitivity there. Of course I also couldn't use the hydro-cortisone either.0 -
I'm one of two people on the planet....
that are allergic to Aloe Vera.
BUT, I know many, many people that get relief from this magic gel. In my neck of the woods, the 99cent only store carries it.
Also, it exists in many, many products...especially 'after sun' care lotion...the advantage there is that you would also get some soothing as well as the aloe...

You can buy 100% Aloe VeraRague said:Talk to your Rad Nurse/Dr.
There are many companies that make an aloe lotion and/or gel. You can also use your plant -I all but killed all my aloe when I was burned.
You can buy 100% Aloe Vera gel in any drug store. But, check with your rads oncologist first.
Good luck,

As others have said, be sure
As others have said, be sure to check with your rads doc/nurse first. The advice I was given was be sure it is pure aloe, no fragrances and no dyes. Any drug store/walmart/target will carry it, usually in the aisle with sunscreen. Or a natural food store.
Good luck with your rads treatments.

I was told by them that I could use 100% aloe. I have only been able to find 95-98% aloe and most have citric acid or other ingredients. Did you find it in walmart or target?
Thanks for the good wishes: ) I need them!
