First birthday after cancer!

in Ovarian Cancer #1
Yesterday I celebrated my first birthday after cancer (just turned 28 on 4/5)... althought Im in remission I believe its all gone and I am thankful to even be able to grow older at this point... Didn't do anything to celebrate yet but It was a good day.... this time last year I had just started feeling a large mass in my stomach but since there was no pain I just ignored it and didnt go to the dr till one week after my grandmother passed on mothers day last year.... It was already a hard time and come to find out I had a 26cm mass growing in my abdomin... last year was rough- 5 hr surgery total hystarectomy 2 week hospital stay wound vac and lovely chemo.... but here I am today turning another year older... Im blessed, Im tired my bodys scarred I will never be the same.... But Im ALIVE and I am sooo blessed to be here!... Glad I found this site to vent on and relate to other women who know exactly what I went thru!

    It's is great to hear that you are doin good. I can't wait for that feelin. Where I go to get chemo they give out parking passes and the dates are six months apart from start to finish finish date and my end date just happens to be my birthday. That's a good feelin in itself. Well, i hope you do something awesome. :-)
