'Stage 5' cancer

I am like you.I'm not sure.Although after my dx I was talking to a friend(retired nurse) and her daughter is a nurse.She told me there is no such things as Stage 5 cancer.So I am thinking the way you are.

BUT then I went to a friend's funeral and her twin said she had a Stage 4-5 cancer.That was when I heard about Stage 5.Borderline I assume.Anyway her twin told me she had bc and 17 nodes were also involved. ALOT in IMO. Even though it was that serious she was cancer free for 12 years. Then it came back in her bones.She fought but lost her battle the 13th year.

Interesting to ask??? I just had my doc appts so no more for 6 months. Won't see the Breast Center till July. I am sure the radiology doctor would know.I see him sometimes but not always.

I took the above information from the National Cancer Institute, I also check the Livestrong site and it has the same information.

Could it be referring to the five stages of cancer, 0, I, II, III, IV, rather than stage 5?

More and more women are actually being diagnosed at pre cancerous stages now that diagnostic testing is happening at earlier ages. I have a girlfriend that they didn't think had cancerous tumor but saw something they didn't like. They did allot of testing before even needle biopsying and at biopsy they still felt had caught it before stage 1 statis hence a stage 0. She was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer after the pathology was completed and found stage 1 behind what was not normal and thank God she had double mastectomy something they were deaming extreme measures. She had seen all I had gone through and saw how many years I have survived and decided to take the harsh road.
Still more and more women are being diagnosed with suspisous cells more and more often.

The only stage 5 I know is....
adding my stage 3 rectal to my stage 2 breast...*smile*

Seriously, tho, I need to agree that it's probably the 5 stages....

In breast cancer, there is truly a stage 0....DCIS...that totals 5 stages, altho the last, even there, is stage IV....

IMHO...
