I'm Bald
I don't know about anyone else, but my hair was "hurting" and my scalp was very sore from the weight of the hair. I am glad it's gone, and it feels much better.
ALTHOUGH now I am having back spasms.

I'll share...
Hey Beth...
I got a ton of candy I'll share with you...comfort food! I'm sorry you had to shave your head. I remember when my hair thinned..(big time) during chemo, it hurt to comb it. Felt like someone was tugging on it from the roots out. It even hurt when I rested my head against the back of my comfy recliner. Weird how that feels huh? Do you have some pain pills for the back spasms?...hope so. Your one hell of a trooper Beth...hang in there friend.

That was fast
Hi Beth,
That seems very fast for you hair to come out. Must be the stronger chemo combo. Well, at least you won't have any more bad hair days. All kidding aside, your so very brave and strong. Maybe someday we all can get together and give each other a great big group hug.
Whats up with the back spasms. Is that expected or is it new. maybe a call to the advice nurse is in order. Stay strong..
Peaceful healing

Lisha, I thought it was fast too, but today is day 12 and I think because I knew there was nothing to fear in shaving it this time I became more willing to part with it sooner rather than waiting till it got really messy.
And yes, it is surprising how much hair can hurt.
I haven't got the beginning of a clue what's up with the spasms. I've been taking Hydrocodone for the pain, sitting with pillows under my knees and heating pad on low. I went to my chiropractor this morning and got the impression he didn't think it had anything to do with my spine. I am not sure. If it doesn't get any better I will call the on call doc. I have never had back spasms before and wonder if it could be my kidney? I know one of the drugs they are giving me is very hard on the kidneys.
I got a chance to visit with a couple of old friends today, made me smile and I wasn't the least bit afraid to take my scarf off with them here. They've known me for 21 years and have seen me at my worst.
Has anybody here heard of back spasms from rice chemo?
Brave? Trust me, I am not. I'm scared to death, but doing what I can to stay in the moment and let GOD hold my burdens. I think by the time chemo starts again week after next I'll be shaking in my boots0 -

Yes you are brave. Believe it...
And when you start your chemo again, we will cyber hold your hand and be there with you.
Happy that you got some time with old friends. Smiles are always great.
