In the Japanese original a haiku consists of three lines, which together contain a maximum of
17 syllables - approximately the dimension of a breath. The syllable distribution is 5-7-5.
Rhymes dont play any role. It's easier than it sounds and I hope you will humor me.

So here's what I came up with. Let's have fun with this, I CAN'T wait!

As day turns to night
I count the hours and the smiles
days are long – years fly

Hugs,
Ayse

    Wow, that's a challenge
    Rest seems illusive
ALways much to do but tired
    Think I'll take a nap

Best I can come up with for now. Maybe after the coffee kicks in.

    i love haiku
I have a whole journal of haiku that I wrote the weeks following my mastectomy. Some funny, some very negative, and some just a reflection. Wish I could find it now!!!

    ok let's see
    When coffee I drink
life begins to make more sense.
    Only God can fix this.

    Darkness comes too soon

OK, I'll give it a try
    Rain is pouring down
    Thunder, lightning, wind bends trees
    Morning will bring sun

I've got tornado warnings where I live....hoping I don't wake up in OZ

    Survivor Guilt
    Hand outstretched in knowing friendship
Her body wore down and gave out
    Again walking the path alone

    Thinking...
    As I lay awake thinking
where next does this journey take me
    wondering, dreaming, praying and hoping

    Rain pours down again

When the indigo buntings arrive every year, I feel like my spirit just soars. And they're back!

Can you tell who's not sleeping?
While my brain won't sleep it keeps coming back to your challenge.

    Much uncertainty!
    Love, support, trials many.
    Final VICTORY!

    Roller coaster ride,
ups and downs abound for all.
    We ALL shall TRIUMPH!
