Labs not so good
Well, I received a call this morning form MD Anderson, the nurse for my onc was concerned about my recent lab results. She didn't like the numbers. They are wanting to do some adjustments with my meds. I really hate that. It seems that I just get used to one change and then they get changed again.
I am still thinking that I may go alone for my next set of scans and dr visit. I am going to book a room at the hotel that is connected to Anderson. that way it will be easy to go between the two places. I still have a little time before I need to book my flight, so until then I will still try to decide about going alone.
Peaceful healing

lab results not good
Lisha - so very sorry to hear about your lab results. How far is your flight to Houston? I'm fortunate to be able to drive 2 1/2 hours to reach Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. There's a nice Marriot hotel a mile away we stay in.
You're be in my thoughts and prayers - keep us posted. So much sad news lately from dear friends on this site! Guess that's part of our game and what we're dealing with from month to moth. We all want happy news of remissions and life that returns a bit more to normal - that happens to the lucky few. Hopefully to us one day too! Fondly, Fran0 -

Hi Fran,
It's always so nice to hear from you. I am so sorry to read that your struggles are many. I hope and pray that the gastro doc will find an answer, You must be so so tired.
Travel to Houston is about 4 and 1/2 hours , I have a plane change in Dallas so it adds a little more time. Sure do wish I could drive, but Calif to Texas is a long way.
When we were in Tampa with MIL, we stayed at the Embassy which is also near Moffitt. I thought that Moffitt was a wonderful hosp. I am happy for you that you're close enough to drive there.
I too hope that we all reach that happy normal place again. I believe that it just takes a little longer for some, but we will get there...

Labs
Dear Lisha,
I am so sorry the lab results were disturbing. You didn't mention the numbers, and where the problem were. I am glad at least MD Anderson is in the loop with your blood work. Do you have your blood test done where you live? And then forworded to Anderson?
You're a strong lady. I am sure you will do well traveling alone. Get a good nights sleep the night before. Maybe the traveling alone will change??
I know it is hard changing medications. Think of it this way. It is a change for the better.
Let us know when you will be traveling.
All my love, blessings, and prayers to you on your journey. Maggie0 -

I'm so sorry about the labs not being where they should be. Changing meds is always a challange for me. Hope it goes well for you. Hang in there.

Hi Maggie,
I have hope that hubby will be able to travel with me. I would much rather go with someone then by myself. I know that I could if I have to, but..
I do get my labs drawn here and the lab faxes it to MDA. Makes it easy. MDA also has online acess to all my records, so i can look up anything at any time. Super great.
Take good care and thanks for always having such kind words of hope.

Hi Leslie,
Trying to take it day to day. Some days are hard but I do have some that are less difficult.
Everything is set for two months from now. All appointments etc. Feels like a long way away. I'm sure that will change as the date gets closer.
You hang in there too. Try and find a little peace within..
