Hello Everyone, it sure is nice trying to catch up on how everyone is doing, I see new names on the board. Sorry I have been gone for so long, even though I had not met in person anyone on this board, losing a few of our sisters online affected me more then I thought it would. Then a few weeks ago I lost my sister in law, my husband's only sister to pancreatic cancer and I was not able to go see her (alive) or to her funeral bcause of financial reasons. Thank God for my cousins and my mom who gve my husband enough money for him to go see her 2days b4 she passed away and to help pay for the funeral. Im feeling ok, but Im having a real hard time accepting the limitations my body has. A good example, I started taking how to decorate cakes classes, and Im enjoying it very much. I've made a few cakes, I will post on my expressions some, the latest cake was very hard work, and though I enjoyed it, it really took a toll on my body, I was in so much pain the night I finished. Then lst wk I volunteered at the soup kitchen in my town for only 4hours and 5 days later my hands, wrist, anckles and back still hurt. Everyone tells me this is still normal, but I'm starting to get very concern that my body is still so weak. Its been 1 yr since my combo chemo, radiotion treatments, and I finished Herceptin last Sept. Any comments or advise?

Love, Lupe

Hi Lupe :) glad you updated!
Hi Lupe :) glad you updated! i havent been on so much either lately. I completely understand about your body feeling weak still. I just got off the phone with my Dr -im supposed to see him on Friday for a check up & had to reschedule until tomorrow morning because the pain in my hands, hips, knees, has gotten to the point where it's excruciating :( im also VERY frustrated with my body. And i cant wait to see your cake pictures! i just LOVE watching Cake Boss, and Ace of Cakes -ive never decorated one myself but they make it look SO fun! I want to learn it!
    *hugs*

Hi Lupe! I'm Nancy and one
Hi Lupe! I'm Nancy and one of the new folks on this board since you last posted. I was diagnosed in January, have had a lumpectomy and re-excision and am starting chemo in about 2 or 3 weeks. Your post was inspiration to me! Nice to meet you, just sorry it has to be here.

Lupe - so good to see you lovely face again
That's a great picture of you, love your smile.
And your son looks very adorable too.

First off my condolences on the loss of your sister in law.

I am sorry to hear that you still have not much energy. But I can relate,
though I just got done in 1/25 of this year, I am still impatient with my
progress, sometimes a 5 mile walk knocks the wind out o my pants and
I am down for a week (and as you imagine... really Grrrreee'ed off). Though
I am only 37 years old, in chemo years it transates into 57, I think. But once
we are through the eerie chemo forest, we get to regain our original age but
    keep the wisdom.

I had a terrible time with joint pain, Glucosamine supplements really helped
me with that problem. Maybe you can check with your oncologist.

It's so good to see enjoy your life and your loved ones.

    Hugs,
    Ayse

    Lupe... it so good hearing
Lupe... it so good hearing from you. What a beautiful picture of you and your son. You have a lovely smile. My hair has grown in, too.

I am sorry to hear about your sister in law passing away, but I am so glad your husband was able to see his sister before she passed away and was able to attend her funeral services. That was a gift, no doubt.

I am sorry to hear you are in pain. You are a Strong Warrior and have gone through so much. You have weathered the horrific storm that is cancer and have come through on the other side. Hang in there, keep going. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    God bless.
