Mulan and Alan
Mulan is my 5 year old Golden Retriever and Alan is my almost 60 year old husband. He does not like her to sit on the couch either. What he does not know is that while he is at work she gets back at him by sleeping on his side of the bed. Dogs are wonderful. Mine always brings a smile to my face, too.
If any of the Pink Sisters are also dog lovers, you might like to read the book:"Dogs and the Women Who Love Them:Extraordinary Stories of Loyalty, Healing and Inspiration."0 -

That was pretty funny. Particularly considering the shoe is probably as big as she is.
Thanks for that:)

Dogs are smart
This is a pretty smart dog. There are some even smarter ones that can smell cancer but those ones are really rare. Our cat learned how to turn the bathroom faucet on when we had lever type handles. I also had a labador retriever when I was a young mother that knew which kids should know better than to pull on her ears (the two older kids). She would nip at them but never bite. I don't even think her mouth ever actualy touched the older kids but she would pretend that she was going to bite them. If the two younger ones ever did anything to hurt her she would just escape. Now that was a really smart dog too.0 -

I have a friend whose dog helped her find her cancer. She was sitting in a chair. The chi jumped on her.She had 3 dogs but this one always gave her havoc. After the dog jumped on her she started having some pain.In 3 days she went to the doctor. He told her she had a aggressive form of breast cancer and her life for the next week or 2 would be fast speed. It sure was.She had it all done.Tests etc and surgery in a week. She is doing fine.
That dog meant everything to her after that.Even though it was a pain before. If not for her dog she wouldnt be here today.AND she knows that. The dog has since passed(old age) but she will remember her forever.Things happen for a reason.I do believe that.
I love my animals. They know if I am hurt and feeling down. They give us unconditional love.

Wonderful story!
And some people call them dumb animals! Obviously those who hold that view never lived with an animal. We have 3 cats that keep us guessing all the time, especially the 2 16-month-old siamese kittens. Excuse me, I was just informed that I shouldn't say we have 3 cats, they reminded me that we are allowed to live with them only because they don't have opposable thumbs to open cat food cans.
Animal lovers should check out the Chicken Soup books.0 -

Yep, my Sheltie got into the habit of sniffing the back of my knees and then walking away with her tail down. She would go lie down and stare at me. Now that I have had surgery, radiation, and chemo, she no longer does that ritual. I think she was telling me that my smells were off and that something was wrong. I wish she could talk in words. She's a sweetie.0 -
