I had the DIEP prodecure
in which they use your own tissue and fat. As I had mentioned before on another post, it's a long surgery and a slow recoup time. I'm happy with the decision I made. I have a little numbness but all in all, I'm satisfied.
If you need more details you can PM me with any questions.

DIEP Flap Reconstruction - January
I had the DIEP Flap. It was a long surgery and has been a long recovery. One of the differences between the TRAM and DIEP Flap procedure is that the DIEP does not take an abdominal muscle. I think that the recovery is supposed to be faster with the DIEP.0 -

I had a lumpectomy, but, I know that the pink sisters that have had this will give you some information. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I had a tram flap 4/30/2010.
I am glad that I made the choice for this type of reconstruction. I am almost at my 1 year "canaversary" and I have no regret what so ever.
If you would like to pm me your contact information, I would be happy to get in touch with you and answer any questions you may have.
I am going in for a "procedure' on 4/11/2011 so I'll get back to you by the end of the week if you'd like.
Be well,
Justine0
