AH! C'MON!
Chris
PS: If this story put a smile on anyone's face it was worth it, I had to laugh myself at the irony of it all!

You did put a smile on my face, anicca said:It really is ironic! Don't
It really is ironic! Don't stop fighting, and do keep living in the moment, just a little more gently, please

not because of your misfortune, but because of your ability to laugh at the absurdity of it all. I believe it is a testmanent to one's strength when they can laugh instead of cry when things are so crazy. There is a time to cry of course but it is much more fun to laugh. I'll raise my imaginary cocktail and toast to better days for you.

Oh my but you did make me smile!
Just what you didn't need but Gilda was right as Kathleen says. You would think that all the regular speed bumps in the road we hit now would be trivial compared to "Big C" but they seem monumental when we hit those too! Enjoy the cocktail and the movie.0 -
ouch!
Oh Christine, I'm so sorry about your fall. Back in 2008 after 6 weeks of radiation (for breast cancer) I slipped on ice and broke by wrist, all you can do is say are you kidding me and get up and start cracking jokes. I once told a customer that I took up break dancing, it took a second but the customer got the joke.
So sit back and laugh (they say laughter is the best medicine) and try to take a walk again and enjoy the beauty!

laughter
Well if humor is the best medicine, you've just given us the gold standard. I just couldn't help but laugh at your story since it sounds like something that could very well have happened to me. But seriously, I also feel your pain, physically and mentally. I hope it all comes out right in the end.0 -
Oooo that is just not fair
I didn't laugh - its like "oh no what else are you going to do to me?" (from the big guy upstairs) I often think like that!!!!!
But I have your attitude "I STILL REFUSE TO STOP FIGHTING THIS MONSTER" and I can deal with whatever you throw at me
A glass of wine works wonders, take care Tina xxx0 -

Your story reminds me of the saying: "If you want to forget your troubles, wear shoes that are too tight." I hope you had someone to be kind to you the rest of the day.0 -

I understand that you could not laugh. I know exactly what you are saying. I get so mad at this world too and mostly call this little "c" all the bleeping-blankety-blank names it deserves. That gives me the strength to keep on fighting like David and Goliath sometimes. I know God is on my side and that's the only peace I can sometimes find. You take care too my friend. Chris0 -

"It's always somethin'!" So sorry about the rise. What is your doctor's opinion about it?
Take care,

My doctor still recommended that if it were him, he'd give it another two months to keep getting stronger before the recheck. But he agreed to my request for a month instead. Around May 6th I'll have the blood done and we'll go from there with more chemo if it looks like a continued upward trend. I'm okay with that, so we'll see. You take care too, are you the Kathleen who is in Japan? Chris0 -

Tina:
this must be the week for stumbles and tumbles. I took a fall backing up with an empty wheelbarrow and caught my ankle on a log. Down I went, flat on my back; my port may have jiggled but I sustained any serious injury. After dealing with "the monster" everything seems relative in its place. Someone said--don't sweat the small stuff. We all cry at times but hopefully find more laughter than tears. Thanks for giving us a laugh. Take care

I am smiling......
Christine....thank you so much, I have chuckled for some time now over your post. You definitely put a smile on my face. It would appear that your literal interpretation of "live in the moment, enjoy the scenery" has not panned out well for you....hahaha. Next time try the lower scenery or wrap yourself in bubble wrap....hahaha. Very sorry to hear you have damaged yourself but really glad to read about your good attitude and spirit.
One more thing, my CA125 has increased about 10 points monthly. It is now almost 90 but my oncologist tell me this isn't the worst thing in the world. I hope they are right because it bums me out! However, life is going well, the sun is out, and right on for that eh? Enjoy your day and stay positive.
