thinking of you
so sorry to hear about your healing problems. have heard about the hyperbaric chamber used for healing after anal radiation and other anal wounds. hopefully this will do it . i do not have any suggestions at this time except that if you can get up and move perhaps another opinion is needed- another doctor?? sephie0 -

I am 7 months post treatment and I still have so much pain down there. Also I bleed quite frequently. I am going into the hospital tomorrow morning for a treatment to stop my bone marrow from eating itself and hopefully they can fix my butt too. Had I known I'd have all these after effects, I don't think I would've gone thru the chemo and radiation. I hope you find some relief, and if you do, please post it. Melodie0 -

To melbas2 all of my current problems are due to the extreme radiation I had in 2009...I received 5.8 rads which apparantly did quite a bit of damage. If I find good results with the hyperbolic for healing will post my findings. Good luck with all your treatments.0 -

While I was in the hospital last week my oncon doc sent the surgery doc to see me. He said to try Desitin. It seems to ease the pain but it's not producing any healing. So I have another appointment to set up with him to see what we can do. You might want to try it for relief, but I don't see it as a long term fix. If you hear of anything, please post and I will after my surgery doc appt. Melodie0 -

Hello
I am 6 months post treatment (chemo and rad) the pain from the wounds is greater than the tumor! I have 2-3 of these ulcer like wounds that flare up almost daily. I need pain meds when the pain is to great. The dr's don't gave any real solutions beyond keeping the area clean. One dr recently suggested gauze therapy soaked in dakins solution 25%. The problem is, a's I sai to him. Try walking around with gauze stuck up your butt every/all day. Besides other dr's say gauze is a waste of time. I'm at a loss. They are putting off biopsy till I heal more and I'm afraid that the biopsy will only add fuel to the fire. Does anyone have any suggestion?0 -

I'm sorry to hear about your wound issues and that I don't have any good advice to offer you. Will your doc(s) refer you to a wound specialist? That would be my only suggestion.0 -

Hi:
sorry to hear you are having so much pain.99% aloe gel, and Lidacaine ointment helped me more than any pain med. I also suggest you see a wound care specialist; they are up on all the latest.
Hugs to you0 -

I am now a year without my wound from the cancer surgery will not heal. I currently have home health nurse packing the wound plus I am going to the wound clinic. The Dr. suggested hyperberic treatment (100% oxygen infusion) while I cannot get this treatment as I have advanced lung disease you might ask your Dr about Hyperberic...after reading all I could I was very hopeful but now very disappointed that I do not qualify.0 -
