I have reached the

5-year celebration mark with my cancer journey and wanted to take a moment to THANK my family here for all your guidance, support and prayers I have recieved over these 5-years.

5 years ago was a smack on the head for me as well as a shock. I was not sure how I would cope or get through this time in my life; yes, I had family, friends and church, but did not have that connection that is required for the hand-guidance needed during that time, but when I found YOU (family), I found that connection that gave me HOPE especially with information.

I knew I could turn my computer on, sign-on here, and ask any question I had and could receive support, guidance and hope to get through my day.

It is hard for me to really express my feelings of how much you guys really mean to me, so I will wrap my arms around you all and give you a virtual hug

I apologize for not posting as often as I used too, but I sign-on everyday and read every story and shed a tear or too.

I had my 5-year check-up and CT Scan yesterday (4/7/11) and my Onc and I talked about the next steps and he stated that we can now see each other once a year, but not to hesitate to contact him if I feel it's necessary. It's funny we are the same age; the doc and me and we actually went to high schools not too far from each other. Strange or faith?

History for those who are starting their journey: DX with Stage II Colon Cancer at age 42. Total obstruction; emergency surgery in 2006; Did FLOFOX & finished in Nov 2006; resection surgery in 2007 and been NED every since.

I was scared too death the entire journey and acted like a child sometimes, but did not loose faith.

Keep fighting, kicking, and screaming cause we will be here for you as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
