Funny you should ask...
I watched a ton of fishing shows. I'm convinced those guys catch the same large mouthed bass...over and over and over again.
I also was glued to the Masters golf tournament, and will be again this weekend-though feeling soooo much better.
Best to all,
Chuck.0 -
The shows were bad enough but
The shows were bad enough but the commercials really drove me up a wall. Corden Bleu college, medical records clerk training, cash for annuity companies and ambulance chasing lawyer ads. Told me a bit about the demographic of the folks that spend all day at home watching TV
Plus, I saw every episode of every flavor of Law and Order, all on the USA network. I was too tired to look for the remote to change the channel.0 -
Not sure why?
For some reason, I was locked into the cooking channels. I found it interesting to watch different people cook different things. I don't cook, so my wife asked why I was watching these shows while I had the PEG Tube in me?
On occassions, I still like to watch Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives : )
I can make a mean bowl of Cereal though : ) just kidding, I can rustle up something easy for us when need be.

All I did was watch cooking show's! I missed food so much, I would still have company over on Friday night's but ordered in. Everyone bought me cooking dvd's. Now I seldom watch any cooking show's as my eating has improved.I loved to cook & bake but now enjoy going out more.I am also into the Housewives of Orange County, New Jersey etc. Thing's have changed lol!0 -
Comedies
All 3 seasons of The IT Crowd and a few seasons of The Office. Laughed even when I was glowing bright red. Good question Jermain. Welcome to the board.

The commercials drove me nuts too. Everyday, and I mean everyday I would see a commercial for Tax Masters on CCN when I was in the waiting area for radiation. I got so tired of the guy in the commercial...seemed like he followed me there.
Now get this. After I was able to get back to work and eat a bit, I went to Jason's Deli with some co-workers. Guess who was there eating a big salad. Yes indeed, the Tax Masters guy. I couldn't believe it. I wanted to introduce myself and tell him my story etc. I did not. I have since seen him there several times. It also turns out he is the CEO of the company (looked them up online)0 -

Fortunately for me, I went thru treatment from Feb-April of 09, which was before the baseball season. I cannot see how I would've made it thru the last of treatment as I did had the Cubs been playing and on tv, as I was sick enough as it is!
I also welcome you to the forum, Jermain. And good question.

I am another one...Watched food shows constantly while I had the PEG and later when I couldn't taste at all. Now, one year later I never watch those shows. Back to sports and any zombie movie that comes along.0 -

Food Channel
Like mentioned, especially during the no food stages of radiation surviving only on pain meds and Ensure Plus....
I watched them all, Paula Dean, Anthony Bourdain, Man Against Food...LOL.
I would even record them on the DVR for later viewing and dry drooling (as I had no actual saliva).
Best,

TV
Being confined to home I quickly learned what daytime TV is geared to VS evening time TV.It made me want to get better even faster.
Jerry Springer
Steve Wilcos
Cheaters
Divorce Court
And I had no idea one could rent a phone.

Even the food commercials made me cry since I was on my peg pretty fast and stayed that way for many months.
I watched way too much tv. Anything and everything other than cooking shows. The only food related shows I watched were Gordon Rasmsay's Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.0 -

Staceya I always found myself watching the food channel and shows like man vs food etc.. my husband would ask me "why are you torturing yourself??" lol I even literally made a list of foods/restaurant I planned on eating at as soon as i could swallow and taste again lol. The other shows I got hooked on were say yes to the dress and 4 weddings! lol0 -
