thickening of uterus

Has anyone here had their uterus removed due to thickening? I was told only if see cancer cells....so far after 2 D & C I am good...(just taken off tamox. about 2 wks ago..will change to something else after blood work and next appt

    Whenever in doubt...take it out.

    I had mine out
    I had a total hysteroctomy at 48. I had a uterine fibroid tumor that grew.I debated on a complete but after hearing someone I knew died of ovarian cancer after having her uterus out I said take it ALL. Now I am so happy. Less places for me to get cancer.Uterus, Ovaries, cervix. I never had the hot flashes etc.All seemed the same but finally no periods. I didn't take hormones either with a history of benign bc tumors and a family history of bc cancer.

    Tamox like my friend says can cause uterine cancer.She was cautious about taking it but fine after 16 year.She does have a fibroid ovarian tumor. I am taking tamox but don't have to worry about that.

    It's another surgery and the way I felt but now I am so glad I did it.Hate at 64 to go through that kind of surgery.

    IMO I would opt for it all GONE.

    I've been diagnosed with it,
    I've been diagnosed with it, but not had it taken out. I am not sure what my oncologist is going to do in the near future for me either because I do have this thickening, plus PCOS which puts me at high risk for uterine cancer, I am not sure what he'll want to do about the Tamoxifen. I do need it and am pre-menopausal, so not sure what choices are left, if any. I would say if your doctor recommends removal, I would do it.

    just taken off tamox
    and wondering if really worth side effects of trying a new med and starting over with all new side effects again..

    i thought menopause was long over
    now 2 x in past 3-4 mths had bleeding after almost 4 yrs of not...taken off tamox 2 wks now I called onologist yesterday to tell started up again..she told me to call gyno..first time it happened i called gyno..he saw me and then said see oncologist! so this time I called onoclogist she said call gyno...go figure...ahhhhhhhh

    I will call today..but so hard with my job to be able to talk personal on phone and I DONT" GET breaks...

    I am sure he'll want to SEE me in the office again...

    HE and oncolgist I must say speak to each other on the phone..(different states)
