Colon Cancer???

Hi everyone.I came to this boards because I know some of you wonderful people from when I had Breast cancer.Amost 2yrs. later I have had a Colonoscopy.And they did two biopsys from my Colon and also was showed a picture of the walls to the opening was yellow in color not pink like it should be.The biopsys were taken from two places that looks like sore spots.Have any of you had this happen?I find out the results this Tues. I am scared out of my mind.I want to go by myself like I always do but don,t know if I can.I have no one to talk to.My husband don,t relize how serios this could be.My daughter is so close to me.She can,t talk about it.My son just thinks the test was ok.And has not ask.My kids dad died of Cancer in November.I know I can always turn to these boards to talk to someone that cares.Thanks for reading this.God Bless you all.     i get a annual colonscopy (I just had my 20th one) few weeks bac
    I have biopsies taken all over from one end to another...so far all has been good....so sorry you are waiting for results...the unknown is hard..

    I had appt with my dr for results they had to cancel it..I must reschedule to find out mine..

    I"LL be sending good thoughts your way...

    If it were me I'd have a
    If it were me I'd have a heart to heart with my DH and ask if he would go with me. He should be in the loop with what is going on.

    Hi Pat,

    Life is just not fair sometimes, is it? Having gotten through breast cancer should give us a pass from getting any other type of cancer I think. I have/had breast cancer and my husband had colon cancer. We are definitely survivors. He has to have more frequent colonoscopies than most people for obvious reasons. He has had the procedure done in a freestanding outpatient surgery center and the outpatient surgery center at the hospital. At both places it has been made very clear to us that the patient is NOT under any circumstances allowed to drive him/her self home. You have, after all, been given anesthesia. We have always felt very well after the procedure but had someone there to drive home as required by the facility. It is largely a legal issue but good practice anyway. If your husband is available he should be there to drive you home. You deserve his support anyway. Please let us know how it goes.

    I hope that it turns out to be nothing, but you know we will be here to support you no matter what.

    Please talk to your hubby, or to someone else close to you, and TELL them (don't ask) that you need them to come with you on Tuesday. Regardless of who may be with you in the flesh, you know that the room will be filled with your fellow pink warriors.

    My 2-fer.....
    rectal cancer was found. Then, during a PET scan to see how far it had spread, a lump in my breast I'd had for over 10 years 'lit up'.

    I was told that the rectal, for me, was top priority, and that (get this) IF I survived the treatment, then we would explore the breast lump...sigh..

    BUT, at 6 months (which was the time frame the docs gave me to survive the rectal), not only had I survived, but started investigating the breast. 2 different types of cancer, so they were not mets....

    6 YEARS later, I'm in remission. Still cautious, and always on the watch (both primaries were in the lymph system), but living life as my 'someday' is right now!

    Please keep us posted! If it does turn out to be the beast, you beat it once, you can again!

    Hi Pat, I understand your nervousness and I am so glad you found your way back here as we are most certainly here when you need us! Family sometimes become so nervous they choose to act as if all is okay when you are still waiting to hear how things truly are. In a way this can be helpful because it helps to calm us at times, however at other times we need to express our fears and perhaps a hug or two. Trust that you are in my prayers and have my support. Please let us know how things go, hugs~hugs~hugs!

    Pat please stay positive
    let's think and pray it is benign. Please tell your family that you are waiting for results and need support to drive you to your doctor. When you tell them, you will feel stronger, if you have to face it they should help you to go through.

    Hope tumor is benign
    I hope the tumor is benign.I've been through somewhat what you have.I was 29 and had my colon taken out.Bad colitis and lots of polyps.Bled badly for a couple months and it couldn't be controlled.I am 64 now and was DX with breast cancer Aug 2009.I always thought if I got any cancer I prefer breast.A couple reasons: My mom lived 60 years with it and some friends are doing fine after many years.The other reason I thought at least the breast cancer isn't inside my body where it would be harder to detect and possibly go on for a longer time. Then to late. With our breast we can do self exams but not any part of our body where the organs are inside.And where it might be near our live, pancreas etc.Those cancers are serious. One thing that did shock me was a man near me got a liver transplant.He had liver cancer.I thought they did those transplants for other diseases/conditons but didn't think for cancer.

    Hope the biopsy turns out benign and hope they do it soon so you won't have a long wait. I forget what the perscentage is for benign tumor dx but it is very high.Many many more are benign than malignant.Seems like 80% benign????

    sorry to hear about your colon biopsies. I had my first colonoscopy 10 years ago and will be going this summer for the 2nd. I'm hoping all will be clear again. My sisters were not so lucky and have had several polyps removed and all were benign. Think positive thoughts and know that we are here for support. If you express to your DH about your concerns in hearing the results ask him to go with you. I know when you have a colonoscopy you can't drive home but getting results might be a good reason to have him with you again. Let us know what you find out on Tuesday.

    If I had to do it over I would not go alone
    I know we don't know each other but if you don't mind my 2 cents. I went by myself to my 1st appointments and I wish someone was there with me. I always felt like I was asking too much for someone to come with me but I always end up wishing I was not alone. I know the waiting is very hard, the fear of the unknown. I wish you the best of luck.

    Think positive. If you want someone to go with you ask, if not go alone, it's up to you. Your body has been thru so much, the digestive tract is hit hard by the chemo coursing thru.
