    Hi Marcie,

    I am so sorry u have joined the rollercoaster from hell :( I have been riding this rollercaoster since Aug 2010.

    I am 27 and was diagnosed whilst 14 weeks pregnent with my second baby..I was told I would have to abort at 20 weeks so I could have my whole rectum removed and have a temp bag...
    Well I said no way was I aborting my healthy baby so they did the op with bub inside and she survived..thank god.. Well after the op my pathology came back as T2 with 11 out of 18 lymph nodes with cancer..WTF..... So my nightmare just begun..I have just finished my 6 months of chemo it wasn't as bad as I thought apart from getting a blood clot in my lungs a week before bub was due ( I delivered at 31 weeks 6 days so she was 2 months preemie) and the second last treatment of chemo I had an allergic reaction to the oxi which I swear nearly killed me...But in all I have now finished my chemo.... I have a beautiful baby girl and a 16 month old baby boy and I am just praying to god that this beast never ever comes back........... It is a hard road but you can do it!!!! I just look at my babies everyday and I know I will fight this evil beast with everything I have got.....

    I was 44 when I was diagnosed -- not as young as you, but still relatively young! I had zero risk factors. Thunderbolt.

    I'm now 52 -- and have seen both my kids graduate from high school -- yea!!

    Is that your babe? What a honey. My kids have been my guiding light -- have allowed me to endure a lot of @#$# over the past few years -- and it has been worth every moment.

    Yes Tara that is one of my twins. I have B/G twin 11 month old babies and a 5 year old beautiful girl. I feel so blessed even in the midst of this. They help me smile and forget, the 2 best things I can do right now!!

    Thank you so much. Do you have twins? I noticed you said "children". I have 11 mo. old B/G twins and a 5 year old. A challenge in itself!!! :)

    You are young, I'm just younger haha. Yes, it is unfair. I'm in my senior year of high school right now and on my second set of chemo treatments. I have a really rare colon cancer called signet ring mucinoid adenocarcinoma, and there's no history for that particular one in my family. But I do have an uncle who had colon cancer.

    You are young, I'm just younger haha. Yes, it is unfair. I'm in my senior year of high school right now and on my second set of chemo treatments.     Hi Marcie, I too have been recently diagnosed with stage 3 cc. I had surgery 3/12 to remove my sigmoid colon and part of my bladder where the tumor had grown into. I start chemo in about two weeks. I am 35 years old..also one of the younger ones.

    Not super young, but I was diagnosed at age 40 stage IIIB. I was always the youngest one in the infusion room.

    Young in mind..
    48 years chronologically - but planning on at least 40 more.

    I did not read all the other posts but I thought I'd just bring it up in case... Hope you have been test for Lynch syndrome as you are so young to have joined this "club". I am a Lynchie so I thought I'd toss it out there...

    I was 31 when diagnosed with low lying rectal cancer and went through the preop chemoradtiotherapy, resection then post op chemo. Wife was pregnant with our first child at the time and I remember feeling like my life had ended. Got through it day at a time and despite being stage 3 had seven years clear. Have just been diagnosed with a recurrence in the pelvis but don't let that dent your optimism about your situation. Being young improves your chances and your ability to cope with the treatments. From your position cure is realistic and by the looks of your pciture you have a source of all the motivation you need in your little one. we have since had another daughter and feel blessed to have been able to have the kids in amongst all the chaos of treatments, scans and appointments.
    Keep in touch here and know there are many like you who have battled similar problems.

    My husband was 35 when he
    My husband was 35 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 in March 09. He is still undergoing treatment but doing fine. We have ONE little one. She is a lot of fun and the best medicine we could ask for.

    Marcie I do not have cancer but am a caretaker for my mother who is 64. I wish you the best and hope your chemo goes well. Do you have a history of this in your family?
