Our best friend's father was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer where the mets were distant lymph nodes throughout the chest and neck region. One was biopsied to help determine the original tumor (which they had a tough time finding as it wasn't found until the third colonoscopy).
Our friend's father did 6 months of FOLFOX and Avastin. The lymph nodes all disappeared at which point they did surgery on the primary. Next month will be his 7 year NED celebration.
Hope this helps,

more?
He had the original 6 months of treatment and then surgery. I believe he did another 3 months of chemo after surgery and that was it. Other than regular (now yearly) CT scans and blood work (every 6 months) he had no other treatments. He is very healthy and happy today, spending lots of time travelling and gardening and spending time with his grandkids.
Hope this helps,

Thank you!
I had mets to lymph nodes in my neck and to my liver. I did 10 rounds of Folfox/Avastin after which the tumors in my neck and liver had disappeared. That was over 2yrs ago and so far no reoccurence.

I too have distant lymph node involvement -neck, chest, belly - so far no other organs though.
Hope to join the ranks of NED someday and working hard to do it. I am 2 years out and still positive I can lick it.
