Geraldine Ferraro has passed
For those too young to remember her - she was the first woman to be included on a major party Presidential ticket when Walter Mondale chose her as his running against Reagan/Bush.

This also may bring some awareness and extra funding to cancer research as people tend to donate when someone in the public arena dies of cancer.0 -

I too saw it on the news. She was definitely a pioneer as far as women in politics. Sorry to hear she had Multiple Myeloma for the past 12 years. I actually voted for her/Mondale.

but I might could have for her - couldn't vote for Mondale though. She was definately a classy lady who accomplished so much!

She was attracive, poised and very smart. She will be missed.
We haven't heard alot about her in years and maybe with the cancer she kicked back and relaxed.
Her one wish was to live long enough to see a lady become President. I am sure it will happen someday but sad she didn't see it.
