Congratulations!!!!!!
Wow!!!! Approved in 3 days that is amazing!!!
Do you mind if I ask what method you used to make your request. I wrote an email to our governor on her web site and have not heard a word back even acknowledging receipt of my email and it has been a week.
I was thinking I need to try a different approach.

Paul---I would suggest calling the Governors office and asking WHO is the "contact person" for "issuing proclamations". Get a NAME, phone number. These are critical.. these folks are overworked---but once you can connect to a real person---PERSONALLY---it seems to move much faster & smoother. A week is not a long time in their minds---but is in ours... Good Luck!0 -

Paul, I just personalized a draft of a letter that Kim provided to me. I included the reasons why I felt it was important and my husband having esophageal cancer. In the same request I included the wording for our Govenor, with his name already on it, for a proclamation for the State of Nebraska should they decide to approve it. I sent by email as I was told that was the best way to contact the governor's office. On Friday I had a call telling be it had been approved and would I like to attend the signing of the proclamation? Pretty awesome. I want to do more, but not sure exactly what to do, or how to go about it. But with all of us united, I really think we can make a difference. Linda0 -

Paul,
If you send me a private message here with your email I can send sample letters, draft language for the proclamation and step by step how to do it. It usually only takes an email or two and possibly a phone call or two. We have a lot of states already proclaimed & more on the way. ECAN is going to help with publicity by providing press releases, PSAs, etc.
I actually have to call my governors office today or tomorrow to check on my state KY. Last time I checked they were "still working on March proclamations". Are you in SC?
