Hey
I also lost my mom this year. 01/27/11. She died of Lung Cancer. She was 61. It was a terrible fight but she fought to the end. She got lung cancer February of last year and went into remission for three weeks and it came back. I am sorry for your loss and if you need to talk I am here.0 -

My mom has lung cancer right now and I am dealing with that so I can't imagine my husband being sick also. It is really hard to be grieving for your mom and now having to be caretaker to your husband. If you need someone to talk to or just vent feel free to contact us.
Praying for you two.

lost
Hi,
I lost my dad in May 2010 of Small Cell Lung Cancer. I am 42 and was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the right lung in January 2011. It is very difficult losing a parent and then going through another cancer diagnosis so quickly. You and your family are in my prayers.

Jackie,
My wife and I lost our daughter to cancer (multiple myeloma) August 09, and 1 1/2 weeks later my wife was dx'd with stage IV nsclc. We never were able to (officially) stop and grieve for our daughter, instead we started treatment and my wife began fighting as hard as our daughter had, and she continues the fight almost 19th months later! Our daughter fought so valiantly, and now I know from who she inherited her courage from...my wife.
There are times it seems overwhelming to me for sure, and I wouldn't be truthful if i told you it becomes easier, but when it does start to get to me all I do is think of our daughter and then see that same determination on my wifes face. That's my reminder to give it my all and to provide the best care I am capable of, because I owe it to them both.
Don't give up, there are so many new treatments available and/or currently in the works and hopefully your husband will be a candidate for one or more.
Best wishes for your husband and you.

My heart goes out to you as you have been dealt a double whammy. You sound like an amazing caregive mmt and your wife a real fighter. I am so sorry about your daughter. I don't have the right words but I hope you have the support of friends and that you won't hesitate to get help from them. God bless......Diane0 -
Thinking of you
Jackie,
So sorry to hear about your mom. Mom's are our best friends and it's so hard to be without them. My mom has been gone since Dec. 1989, but there are still times when I just wish I could call her up and talk to her. She was always there for me to confide in and I miss that so much. So please try and remember all the happy times you had with her.
So sorry to hear about your husband too. Is he going through treatment now and what is the prognosis? Take care & take one day at a time! I'll say a prayer for you!
