Charlie is in heaven
Haven't been very good at posting lately.....most of my energy was caring for Charlie and keeping up with his CaringBridge site.
With a very heavy heart, I need to tell you Charlie went home to be with the Lord last night. He had been under hospice care in the hospital since last Thurday. I am already lost without him.
He fought a good fight.....He was 10 days shy of hitting the 2 year mark of being diagnosed with stage iv EC. He is at peace now....no more suffering....no more pain....no more worrying about me.
I hope this doesn't discourage any of you from fighting.....he often said it was worth it.
Stay strong,
Jane

My Heartfelt Sympathies
Hello Dearest Jane
May I send to you my deepest heartfelt sympathies to you and your family on the recent loss of Charlie.
Wow! You were both such strong, positive, fighters! Of course it was all worth it! Yes, he is now in a much better place. He and my dad will become the best of friends. We will see them again Jane. Until we meet again. We will see them on the "Other Side." You take care of yourself now. Give yourself at least a year to mourn and grieve. Keep in touch when you can! We love you and send many hugs. Tell my dad hello Charlie!

I am so sorry to hear that Charlie has left us.
Jane,
I am so sorry to hear the news about Charlie. He battled this disease for a very long time. I know you miss him very much but I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that Charlie is now in a place where the pain and suffering of cancer can no longer reach him.
I pray that God will provide you with comfort and peace during this very difficult time.
Best Regards,
Paul Adams

Saddened by your news . . .
Jane, so sorry to see your posting. You and I joined within a few months of each other, so I have followed your story for a long time. I have not been posting much either, just too much going on all the time, don't seem able to carve out the time to be active on this site. I wish you peace and contentment and that you will find comfort in the thought that you and Charlie enjoyed so much additional time together. You also did so much with and for him to combat his disease. May you, in time, reflect on and enjoy the many happy memories shared together.
Take care and best always,
Trisha0 -

So Sorry to hear about "Charlie"
Jane, I just read that you lost your husband to this horrible cancer and I just wanted to say I'm so sorry about this loss. I lost Ed back in September, 2010 as you know. It is such a horrible cancer and no one should ever have to go through what these patients go through.
Keep strong, keep believing and remember "he is up there with the angels watching over you".
If you ever need to talk to me, please let me know.

Dear Jane,
So sorry to hear
Dear Jane,
So sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. My husband was also diagnosed with stage IV ec in October 2010, so I understand the pain and suffering that your husband and you have gone through. May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead knowing that Charlie is at peace in Heaven.

Jane, I am so sad by
Jane,
I am so sad by Charlie's passing and by knowing the grief that you feel. I know you both enjoyed seeing Cardinals. I always think of & pray for the two of you when I see them. Recently I saw a female without the female & got worried (as you know-they are usually in pairs)---thinking Charlie had made a turn for the worse.... but when I took a step to look around the kitchen woodwork I saw the male---he was watching the female. Knowing he was so, ill, I worried. But I was reminded that God was taking care of him,,, and you. I am so happy to have witnessed your love and care for him this past many many months. You were an awesome caregiver. You set an example for the others here. I am sad that you have to go through this & glad you have such a support network. thanks for all you have shared on this site---so many have benefited that you may not even realize the extent of it!
Bless you & take care
