You are right to do a total hysterecomy.Get rid of it all.Leave nothing.I did that when I was 48.I contemplated a total but what changed my mind was a former neighbor told me her mom died of female cancer. I told her NO your mom had a hyserecomy years ago.How could that happen. She said the cancer was in her ovaries. She didnt have them taken out the first time. That is the worst place to get female cancer.Ovarian cancer is usully the hardest to detect and already has spread before they find it.
I have nothing and know I won't get cancer there. They also took the cervix.Glad for that too.
I didn't take hormones at my breast surgeon's suggestion.I had tumors and cysts since 20 years old.But my cancer(dx 2009) I contribute to a accidental blow to my breast from my grandson. They say blows don't cause it but I've had 2 people say it happened to them.
I have no problems with hot flashes.0 -

I had a total hysterectomy due to uterine dysplasia. I too was post menopausal and I just wanted everything out. No regrets!

Sylvia
