Not on Topic but was on "Lock Down" today
He was located in his car and arrested. That's all the news we have on it so far.
I didn't know school could be that exciting.

You know it was
It really was scary, you don't know what's going on. They come over the speaker phone system and inform lock down. My professor was racing to the door, she was so nervous she couldn't hardly get it locked. (You have to lock from the outside with a key and then shut it from the inside). We continued with class but everybody's eyes were on the outside, preparing to duck for cover. And me worrying about my son on the other side of the wall from me in his class. It only lasted 10 minutes, but it was a long 10 minutes. The stories on the web edition of our paper. I don't know how to do the paste link thing that Cheryl is so GREAT at, but here's the article:

I hope they let the "kid" graduate High School for crying out loud.
45 is rather old, I hope he's at least a senior!
We're in college. LOL. My son and I are attending, I just started and he's finishing.0 -

I always have a hard time understanding...
When something can be so important that someone can think of taking a life...even his/her own....sigh....
I think as a cancer survivor, my insticts are just the opposite...I, too, would have looked for the biggest person in the room, my dear Winter Marie!!!! (Hummmm, maybe that is why I hang around with dutch people...the tallest people in the world....*smile*!)

Geez Winter...
Some people will do anything to get out of homework
But seriously, I'm glad it all ended peacefully and no one was hurt. There just seems to be more and more "incidences" in schools, be them high schools, colleges or universities and it has to make you wonder... WHY??? Places of learning, places of classes and homework and studying.... why would anyone think these are good places to go in with a gun or threats to students/teachers? I just don't get it.
Granted, usually the people with the gun have some pretty serious mental problems.... but I think of the current devastation in Japan and for the life of me, I can't think of any legitimate reason anyone has here in North America that gives them reason to think they should/could do damage to others
Sure glad to hear you and your son are ok.... and all your classmates
